A game neither team wanted to lose, not surprisingly ended up with this outcome.

However the onus was on Hornchurch, as the home side, but they failed to trouble their former keeper all afternoon. With the array of quality strikers at their disposal, one must assume the quality of our back four was better,

The whole team worked their socks off all afternoon but with regular defenders missing, special praise must go to messrs Swaine, Oates, Sobers and Green, with Dave Collis working tirelessly in front of them.

Despite concentrating on defence, Town had a goal in each half disallowed (rightly) and also created a number of half chances. In fact in the final 25 minutes there was only one team likely to win.

A great ricay contingent were there and I reckon the crowd was close to four figures

Keep calm and carry on

Not just because they were the home side but because they are 2 points and goal difference behind Billericay. Haway Billericay, 2 wins and a draw definitely does it, but i reckon we might even get away with winning the league with 6 more points. Come on Wealdstone, beat Hornchurch and that number could be less.

I though it was a good all round effort by the team, club & supporters. Dale was barely troubled & we had several opportunities to win it. It's another game gone and a step closer to glory.

But despite all that we've only taken 2 points from a possible six over Easter.

If it's still up for grabs when Lowestoft visit I hope there'll be a Paramedic on standby. This run-in isn't good for my blood pressure.

Don't worry when you visit the Mighty Margate we always have an Ambulance in attendance. Unfortunatley there services have been required by a couple of fans this season.

Was a big result yesterday it was imperative that we didn't lose and in all fairness i think Dale had 1 save to make and we were never in any real kind of trouble,i reckon we would have won if there was another 5 minutes played dominated the last 15 minutes and come close to scoring about 3 times

Well done fella's just 3 games left another big effort needed on Saturday

Certainly a better result for us than for them, but doesn't really change too much in that there's still not much wiggle room for us. Incidentally Lowestoft beat Bury so can still get 85 points - just saying.

The first half was the proverbial sparring match, with both sides keen to avoid making mistakes. I thought we dominated the last thirty minutes with two cleared off the line and a goal disallowed and if anyone was worthy of the win it was us. A strong performance defensively by everyone against their superstar forward line. The attendance was slightly more than I expected with a great turn-out from the Ricay fans - I thought the volunteer staff at Hornchurch did a decent job except the Doris behind the bar who kept trying to overcharge and/or short-change me (or perhaps she was jusr $hit at maths) - just saying.

Next Saturday is the key weekend for me. Hx have by far their toughest game at Wealdstone and we have a home game. It won't be easy as East Thurrock have scored nine in their last two games (albeit against Horsham and Aveley). I would definitely be making a change up top now as we are missing too many chances and would look to give Emeka a go. It's also imperative that we are full-on for the full 90 minutes as our last couple of home performances have been below par in my view.

Three games left, big effort required from players and supporters - We CAN do it!!

Come on you Blues!!

Another good result for us, Hx are an atacking side but we restricted them to next to nothing chance wise.

Whilst we had the ball in the net twice, forced two goal line clearances and a couple of saves, and missed some other good opportiunities.

Its back in our hands now.

Well done lads,

E Thurrock have scored 9 goals in their last two games, they will come to us full of confidence and have nothing to lose, so we will have to be right on our game to get a result.

It's out the way I feel best describes yesterday, we had chances to win the game, but come away unbeaten still and edging closer.

Again the defence done there job, 3 weeks in a row now the other team have taken there top scorers off against us.

We have 2 games to get everything possibility out the way, so we can enjoy Lowestoft what ever the outcome, please!

No it was not for food poisioning as you suggest but as they were (how may I put it diplomatically) of a similar age to your age to yourself in need of assistance due to the stimulating nature of the football produced by Mr Kinnear and his team.

So can you make sure that you have your EHIC with you and an extra pair of Privas with you incase of unforseen accidents.

Now that's a phrase you don't hear too often.

Wasn't suggesting, just asking! Wouldn't dream of casting Nasturtiums about the quality of Gate-burgers!

Do EHIC's work on Thanet? Thought it was still Warsaw Pact?

A good hard earned point. At no point could they pressure us and we could've nicked in the last 25 minutes. Swaine was superb.

Whilst this is a great result, we can't afford to get too carried away. One slip and all that hard graft may come to nothing. Keep it going lads, 3 games from glory.
