The Hosepipe Ban

Recommended Posts

Ref Off Ref - You have to say it was uncanny as it didn't stop raining once did it as soon as the hosepipe ban was imposed. So what are you up to today out of interest now the campaign is all over bar the South Midlands Reserve Floodlit Cup Final on Tuesday and the Anagram Records Feeder Leagues Trophy Final tomorrow week

I was gonna tell you to Fvck off but you raised a valid point so instead I'll be civil.....Fvck off

Ref Off Ref - I'm guessing that Ampthill Park will look like the Emirates on Saturday 11 August for the first League game of next season, presuming that the SSML fixture computer will have them playing at home, if not on Tuesday 14 August

Haha!! As if anyone on the SSMFL has something as modern as a computer!! You only need a computer to do the drawing of fixtures if you issue your fixtures for an entire season, like every other league in this country at step 5/6, as opposed to the monthly nonsense that we have to put up with!!

With the FA Cup Preliminary Round taking place on Saturday 11th August the smart money is on Saturday 4th August being the opening day of the season.

Jonno - Not that old chestnut again, that's what makes the SSML unique, do you really want to know who Hoddesdon are playing on Saturday 27 April 2013

I agree that the SSML should be able to produce yearly fixture lists, they have done it in the past.

The big arguement against is the fact that clubs groundshare (some with clubs in higher leagues that would take preference) and therefore the list could not be produced until after all other leagues finalise their fixtures.

But is certainly something that is not impossible given today's modern technology.

Yes please. Maybe with that much notice, clubs could plan club functions, clubhouse hire and all manner of essential fund raising activities.

Champions League final is being held at Wembley.

That's a strange decision as it has only recently been held there hasn't it
