People who get in free

Recommended Posts

Just dwelling on a).,B). and perhaps e). for a moment.

You are saying that, in your view, people who spend a couple of hours or so each week between games during the season doing "good works" for the club should pay full admission at t'Park unless their duties prevent them watching 85+ minutes of the game?

Were would someone stand regarding free entry, if the contributed nothing, but had a friend who sold programmes in the ground.

Voice, that's an interesting point, programmes could be sold in the ground, or, we could get one person to sell programmes, raffles tickets and golden goals.

I appreciate that The Chairman is dealing with 'any problems' but here is a serious suggestion from me:

I believe that clubs in the Premier Division receive 12 Ryman League passes each season, 2 of which allow free entry to any gound at any time [usually used by The Chairman and the Manager] and the remaining 10 allow free entry to a ground when that particular Club is the away team.

Here's the suggestion:

Other than those whose matchday duties prevent them watching 85+ minutes of the match, everyone at Clarence Park should pay full price admission [Adult/concession/season ticket etc.]. No embarrassment is then caused to turnstile operatives and stewards. No Ticket: No entry.

The concession of 'free entry' due to the value of "good works" done should be wholly at the discretion of the Board. The Board could give Ryman League passes to those who merit 'free entry' and on that basis, those considered by some to be freeloaders would be freeloading at someone else's expense.

Net result to SACFC: £2000 or thereabouts, per season.

Those who consider that their efforts merit free entry, get it. At away grounds.

Hmmm. So those who sell programmes/raffle tickets etc. should be given a Ryman pass.

They will then be expected to pay at Clarence Park and use the pass at away grounds.

The raffle/programme sellers will be forking out the same amount of money as they would under the current scheme. Just that they're paying at home rather than away.

I like the sound of that.

Or have I misunderstood what you're saying??

Hi CZ. Nearly.

For me, I don't consider that raffle-ticket sellers, for example merit free entry to t'Park, if, indeed, they do. But that's just my view.

Say, hypothetically of course, at present, The Board allow any one random member of The Supporters Club Committee free entry to Clarence Park. There is a strength of feeling on here, and not just from those who can't get off their drunken backsides, that those people should pay to get in.

If they are required to pay at t'Park but are allowed free entry at away grounds, don't the objections fall away?

I noticed we had two raffle sellers, one golden goal seller and alledgedly three programme sellers last night. Add to that two gatemen.

On top of that I think there were two people running the club shop.

The gate was between 100 and 150.
