Farnham Town 0-1 Dorking.

Vital 3 points for Chicks which should help see them survive. Took the lead right on half time, after Farnham had dominated the first period and it was an OG from the Farnham no4. A minute earlier a Chicks effort had crashed against the bar and out. Chicks spent most of the second half defending which they did very well at times and in truth the keeper didn't have a lot to do, despite all the pressure. Ftfc hit the bar late on and you sensed it wasn't going to be Farnham's day. Dare i say it, but they missed BBM up front today.

Match Report: Guernsey FC 5 Staines Lammas 0

Guernsey FC's starting team: de Garis, Isabelle, Winch, Le Prevost, Strawbridge, Bradford, Dyer, Black, Jordan, Allen, Loaring

Strong bench: Tardif, Geall, McKenzie, Mackay, Heaume

Matt Loaring gave Guernsey an early 12th minute lead which quickly became a 2-0 lead in the 19th minute when Alex Le Prevost, up for a corner, stroked home his first league goal of the season after a melee in the Lammas 18 yard area.

Lammas struggled to make any impact as the Green Lions continued to push forward at every opportunity and the one decent chance the visitors had was saved brilliantly by Paul de Garis.

Glyn Dyer inflicted further damage on the visitors as he swivelled in the visitors box and crashed in a sweet volley to make the interval lead 3-0.

HALF-TIME STATS: FREE-KICKS - GFC 3 SL 2, SHOTS ON TARGET GFC 8 SL 3, SHOTS OFF TARGET GFC 2 SL 1,

OFF SIDES GFC 3 SL 0, CORNERS GFC 3 SL 3.

The visitors certainly had their work cut out defending in the first half, andthere was no change for them in the second period as the Green Lions swarmed forward with wave after wave of attack. The relentless pressure and dominance of the game allowed Guernsey to substitute Ross Allen, Ryan Zico Black and Matt Loaring early in the second half for Dominic Heaume, Simon Geall and Angus Mackay, a daunting prospect for the overworked Staines Lammas defence, such is the quality of the Guernsey squad.

Although we had to wait until the 81st minute for the 4th goal, it was very well constructed as Jacques Isabelle whipped over a super ball from the right wing and Dominic Heaume rose high and headed the ball home.

Dom was on hand again in the 88th minute when he stroked home his 24th league goal to send the fans home delighted with a resounding 5-0 home victory.

The statistics on this match emphasise Guernsey's dominance throughout the match and the 5 goals are no more than the team deserved on the day.

FULL TIME STATS: FREE-KICKS - GFC 3 SL 5, SHOTS ON TARGET GFC 9 SL 2, SHOTS OFF TARGET GFC 6 SL 2,

OFF SIDES GFC 1 SL 0, CORNERS GFC 7 SL 1.

Paul de Garis, a very reliable goalkeeper all season for the Green Lions was named man of the match, pulling off two superb saves to deny the visitors rare attacks on the Guernsey goal.

Fair account TRS, not sure about the last statement? I'm not sure we would have have scored with fourteen players up front today!!! Looking forward to the highlights!?

Probably as much as everyone did at the Southpark v Woods game as I'm sure BAWA can probably testify too.

A vital 3 points for us today as we are still fighting to beat the drop. We didn't allow SP to play as much football as they would have liked today and we got in amongst them while playing some nice football of our own. First goal in the first half was well taken round the keeper by Embarlo and the second coming midway through the second after Gregson broke the line and finished powerfully. We condeeded a goal 10 minutes from the end after a teasing cross across our 6 yard box to send nerves jangling and SP really pushed on for the equaliser and might well have got it had their keeper not inadvertantly deflected a header past the post but the Woods held firm and think we were good value for the win.

Must admit I felt Dorking were safe once that full time whistle went, but with CWU winning it's not the case. Several clubs still in peril and Sandhurst who looked safe a few weeks ago will now be looking nervously over their shoulders.

Some 6 pointers on Monday - Ash v Farnham, Epsom & Ewell v Banstead, Badshot Lea v Sandhurst.

Who are you Dessie? Please say hello at the game on Monday if you are there. Thanks.

As for the game, I thought our keeper kept us in it at times, but we all played well and it was a great equaliser. We could so easily have crumbled after conceding in the 4th minute. Let's beat Banstead on Monday and then maybe we can relax a bit!

Apologies for the crappy behind goal view, due to the on/off rain!

New thing i've only noticed today on youtube is the ability to slow the video down (or speed up!) when you want to in the settings option on the bar. This only appears to be available on the main youtube page though and not the embedded version for this site.
