Generally an even game but we were more effective in each box. Took the lead with a long ball that their defence didn't deal with, Murphy lobbed the keeper. They had a pen (bizarrely, the seventh Margate-Hendon game in a row that Hendon have had a pen against us). Hill was adjudged to have tripped Federico with his back to him. Anyway, a dreadful pen that SO collected. Both teams hit the woodwork in first half - them with a header, us with a Pooley shot from outside the box. Second half they were getting on top with us trying to catch them on the break. Bradbrook hit the bar with a header. We scored again on 70 mins. Murphy received a cross with his back to goal but hooked it in off the underside of the bar. Relatively comfortable from then on, though Hendon hit a post, and Bradbrook made it three with a far post header.

is it just my imagination, but alot of official/unofficial reports refer to bradbrook and headers.

seems he is becoming very 'aerially effective' these days-part down to him-part down to better service/delivery ?

Hi Michael - hopefully this means you're on the mend. TB mentioned his confidence in last week's interview so it's a combination in my view. The service was pretty good today but he's putting hinmslef about a bit too and it's paying off.

We were by far the better team, easily deserving of the three points. Front two were brilliant, already developing a good relationship and, on another day, we could have had more. But the whole team deserve credit for a comprehensive win. Well done, lads.

I see they have tried to devalue our win by saying that they had 11 first team players out. I dont see it like that & I think its unfair for them to do so. Well done the "Gate" & a good effort considering there isn't much to play for. (Was much to play for for them though). Deserved victory by all accounts.

It is clearly a partial explanation for what happened though. They didn't have their top two scorers (Ngoyi and Charles). If we were in the same situation we'd be quick to point to injuries. The good news is that Cray are without Leigh Bremner so hopefully we can take advantage again tomorrow.

Why am I the only person who still believe there's plenty to play for. We could still be in the play offs...as I said we need a lot of luck and to win each game, but its still there to play for.

We need all games victorious, plus miracles beside Mark (not sure if even they will help) but I am impressed by your positive, never-say-die attitude.

If we beat Cray, Lewes lose at home to Hastings who are fighting for survival, Hendon fail to win at Wingate, Canvey fail to win at Concord and Wealdstone fail to win at Harrow we will be six points off the play-offs, with a game in hand over three of the sides above us.

As I said though, if we beat Cray......
