Bedfont Town

3 point today now mean we have secured 2nd place, but most importantly with the newts only drawing against bottom placed Marlow, we are just 1 point behind.

This means that the next 4 games are massive, as we are now in a real battle for the top position only requiring the newts to slip up once more - which is more than possible on recent form!

I thought we played well enough after going down to 10-men because Bedfont were never going to score except for the penalty.

Apparently NBH's red card means he's suspended for 5 games from the 17th April, so he'll miss the play-offs should we be in them.

My line up for the massive derby is:

Warrington

Sweeney Brown Woozley Murphy

Burgess Coyne Logie Swift

Abbey Anderson

Subs: NBH, Perkins, Sinclair, Burnell, Sonner

we didnt play great but it was a deserved win and in the end quite straightforward

why was NBH actually sent off as other than a blatant Burgess handball i saw little wrong at the time. if anything i thought we were gettin the freekick. ref was ridiculously bad at times. why im shocked by now i dont know but just seem to get worse and worse

fair play to Bateman for taking the whinging pair of Swift and Coyne who werent giving it their all and chucking on Logie and Burgess who from the off hustled Bedfont and forced the opening for our opening goal superbly taken by Burnell

huge unexpected chance now with St Neots slipping up. we have tougher run in though. just need to give it our all. leave everything on the pitch and make sure we have no regrets come full time of Woodford game. monumental effort needed to win the last 4 games but if we do it could the league be ours?

I would guess Coyne was subbed due to an injury (his leg was strapped up).

After the Lord Mayor's show,CR,concerning NBH !

Fair play to Steve Bateman today for making the right substitions.I had a go at him last week about his naff player removals but this week he had the bottle to take the bull by the horns and replace two ineffective midfielders of the 1st half in Swift and Coyne [with Coyne that's nearly a first!]. Reading Rebel,Coyne's removal was tactical, not because of injury,as I heard Steve B say this in the dugout in the 2nd half.

Well done Adam Logie and Ollie Burgess for getting stuck into tackles and uping the tempo of play.Nice to see a couple of players carry out what was asked of them by our manager and coach,as this hasn't always been the case this season.

I've been hard on Ollie Burgess for many of his efforts in a Slough shirt but I thought he was excellent and made a very worthwhile contribution in today's game.

My Man of the Match was a toss up between Simon Sweeney and Danny Murphy. Both had great games.Danny Burnell was in fine form, too.Thought Steve Sinclair had a quiet game again and appeared rather disinterested. Not sure why.Shame Jerome Anderson was out injured. He must be doubtful for Sycob game.

Good to see 'the Enigma' [Chris Herron] back on the bench. After today's game,my line up for Monday's game would be

Warrington

Sweeney Brown Woozley Murphy

Burgess Logie Perkins Herron

Burnell Sonner

Subs: Sinclair,NBH,Abbey,Coyne,Bateman[or Anderson if 80% fit]

I though sonner was mom for me burgess made a hell of an impact of the bench! Nice to see both strikers scoring! If nbh is banned for play off I would def keep him in team, surprised to see burgess on bench IMHO he's been our best player for last month but I also think browns been superb! But fair play to sb for mixing it up we were much better 2nd half!

Was disappointed to see another card for dissent yesterday. What's the point, especially when the decision was right (referring to Coyne's foul that Swift seemed to complain about)? Personally I thought Coyne was lucky to escape a card given that the ref had set the tone with the yellow for NBH.

We had this problem last season but had partly got over it. Yes the referee was poor but sometimes certain players moan for the sake of it, irrespective of whether a decision is right. Some players need to take a leaf out of Danny Burnell's book. This season, especially in the last 3 or 4 months, he's cut out the chat, got his head down and worked bloody hard - and he's a better player because of it. I thought he was brilliant again yesterday.

Let's see if we can get through the next four (or six?) games without any more pointless bookings.

Ian,are you being serious about Danny Burnell ?! You are right in the fact that he has improved on his constant moaning from the start of the season but he still moans rather a lot and no game goes by without him saying something to the referee or linesman.

If you stand behind the goalposts/either end, perhaps it doesn't register as much but from this side dweller, he's viewed as a pretty constant bickerer.

As well as Man of the Match on this forum,we should have an award for Whinger of the Week! Stuart Swift won that particular onerous honour yesterday.

Actually I agree with Ian. Danny's game has got so much better over the last couple of months because he has cut out a lot of the moaning and got on with the game, chasing across the pitch to get the ball and holding the ball up.

We did what was needed yesterday, a solid enough performance. Fair play to Bateman for taking the chance by taking Swift and Coyne off at half time, Burgess and Logie made a great impact on the game setting up the first goal and getting stuck in. Burgess continued his good form (not sure what he did to get dropped - much like Brown) and Logie had his best performance for quite a while.

St Neots slipping up was an added bonus. Certainly makes things more interesting, Monday should be quite a day with them playing Biggleswade.

We are still in it, COYR!

Yet another result that we've ground out. I couldn't see Bedfont scoring until they got the penalty and suddenly the last two minutes were a little nervy. We had two chances that I can remember and took them both!

I know NBH's disciplinary record isn't the best but he was unlucky to be shown red yesterday - many thought the first wasn't even a foul and the second one was apparently not even his handball! I thought it was certainly the right call to replace Swift at half time - he was ineffective and only talking himself into trouble again. Actually, all the substitutions were spot on and had a positive impact on our performance. Both Burgess and Logie had an immediate impact.

If we can beat Beaconsfield tomorrow then who knows, we might be top again as Biggleswade need to get something from St Neots. Two big games in this season, and it could be pivotal.

Burnell definitely upped his work rate and i think to me he seems to have learnt from Owusu's return as its since then the improvement has been very clear. not to say he wasnt a quality player before. i can accept players getting frustrated but at least channel some of that into your performance and effort. rather than storm around in a hissy fit and completely lose focus on the match

hopefully Anderson will be fit asap as he could be massively vital in the last games as he really is completely different to anyone else in the team.

if NBH 2nd yellow was for handball then thats quite frankly pathetic from the ref. it was blatantly clear it was Burgess who handled with the ball then breaking towards NBH. i find it very hard to believe he could get it so wrong AND was that a yellow card offence anyway

Yes, completely serious. All players will talk to the referee but some do it constantly and without justification. Danny has only had four bookings for dissent in total but notably none since January which is my point.
