Guernsey do NOT get paid..

Recommended Posts

I have been asked by GFC to point out, yet again, officially, that NOBODY in GFC gets paid. Players, Officials, Coaching Staff, Stewards, Matchday volunteers..anyone I've missed, everybody is a volunteer. I know GD was only winding up on another thread but it fuels the flames.

We all pull together for the shirt and the pride of our community club.

Please can we quash the rumours once and for all.

IF the situation ever changes, way in the future, we'll be sure to let everyone know.

Is that "paid" in the normal way, or the Ranger's way??

(joking) ;-)

As I've always said, who cares who pays what and how much?

Each club to their own and if they can afford it, good luck to them.

Clubs without cash have to do their best via development oy youngsters or some shrewd signings from junior/parks football.

This, in my opinion is more fun and far more rewarding that chucking a load of cash at journeymen players (and god knows how many of them there are in the CCL) who couldn't give a toss about who they play for or the respective club's future.

With only one promotion place, it is a big gamble to take in trying to "buy" promotion.

As to whether our attitudes would change if a sugar daddy or some sort of financial windfall came our way that is open to speculation.

Whatever happens to CWUFC this season, I have enjoyed our campaign immensely and, especially, seeing the development of our young 1st XI players, the rally our reserves are going through and the gradual improvement of our youth team.

League wise, I am pleased to see more youngsters coming through the ranks at many of our member clubs as well.

Yes he does have a full-time and very rewarding job. He never paid at a high enough level to not need to still earn his crust!
