I've taken the day off work because I'm ill and I now have nothing to do. There's nothing good on telly, nothing to eat, my head feels like it's been squeezed in a vice and my mum keeps going on about dust in my bedroom making me ill. I haven't had a sick day in 2 years and now I remember why. THEY ARE BORING AS FCK!

 

At least when I was a student I could do some homework, or come on here back in the day when there was loads of messages. Now I'm reduced to watching Des'n'Mel and posting messages full of rambling b0ll0cks (no change there then!hahahaha).

Never take a sick day when you are actually sick - it's a waste!

Sick days should be planned in advance so you actually know you've got something to do on it/them (Like going to Bristol <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />) and the preperation should start a few days previous with coughs, sniffles and cups of pretend lemsip (you can just pretend or use Flash Lemon for effect)

No, I'm still there. I've grown to like it again and my manager isn't annoying me (as much) anymore. I'm still looking for jobs though. I got a pay rise but that was from 4.25 up to 4.70 which is okay, but compared to what I could be getting in other jobs, it's not great. I think I'm going to stick it out until the new year and then start looking for a new job properly. I'll be sad to leave though, Costa is actually a great place to work, despite my previous rants. It's all informal, there's no 'Office woman types', and the Christmas parties are actually fun! (and paid for by the customer!)

Yes I know, but it shouldn't effect us too much. Their coffee is rubbish. I could go into why but I won't bore you. Plus, when you think how many coffee shops there are around St. Albans already and these haven't managed to lure away our customers yet, 1 more won't make that much difference.Also, we have loads of regulars, which is a sign of how good we are!

I'm not a big fan of coffee, it's where yuppies go, people should go to pubs more and it costs a fortune for some poncy named cup of nescafe that's just been whipped!

That's true, and we have all the retaliers near us and people will come in for a coffee after they've done their Christmas shopping.

 

Why do you hate multi-chain coffee shops?

Yeah, and pub chains are exactly the same. I could argue it's cheaper to stay in and have a few cans, the same as it is to stay at home and have a coffee.

Well, why don't you have a hot chocolate instead? Or Tea? it's 1.29 for a cup or mug of tea at our place. Which, when you see the sizes, is good value! Or, if you don't want a poncy drink, have a Massimo black coffee. It's got 4 shots of coffee (that's approximatley 28 gramms) and it's hardcore!

 

We don't get that many yuppies actually. It's mainly school kids, mums and babies (dads and babies on a sunday! <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> ) and teenagers. Although we do get quite a few 'suits'.
