AFF - prizes for 1st and 2nd are £50 and £20 respectively, plus of course, and in my opinion more important, the honour and glory of being crowned inaugural champion. As for the rest of the entrants, who knows?? Only 12 filled in forms....

CZ - cheers!!

Brew.

No disrespect to you and Mrs Brew, Brew, but did it occur to you to have forms available in the clubshop? In the clubhouse? Reference to the initiative in the matchday programme?

How are we going to sign Jimmy Floyd Hasslebaink at this rate?

Rome? What's Rome got to do with it? Del Pierro then?

WHAAAAT??

It WAS!!!

There's a lesson there somewhere, Brew. We learn something every day. It's a case of finding it.

Let me think on that one. I'll work it out.

One thing's for sure. Not advertising these initiatives is not the answer.

No Brew. Stop blaming yourself, Brew.

You arranged advertising in the matchday programme. You made forms available in the clubhouse and in the club shop. You did everything that anyone would have done.

This is/was a Supporters Club Committee initiative. Receipts to go to Supporters Club funds, presumably, Brew.

12.

And from your opening remarks, it would seem that at least 2 entrants came from the same family.

The clues are there. If only I can read them. I'm getting closer, though. There's a bit of a picture forming. It's a microcosm, Brew. More anon.

Think "Chesham".

Brew.

I've been thinking.

This Supporters Club Committee iniative, the Fantasy Football League, gives us an excellent opportunity for research, particularly for those concerned at the need to generate much-needed income for The Club.

The concept was new, devised by you, and kept simple. Pick 11 players from the Premiership to form a team, no more than one player from one club. Points are awarded according to results, goals scored and conceded at Premiership matches during the season. There is to be a 'transfer window' at Christmas. Cost of entry: £10. [That's enough detail I think, Brew.]

The matter was agreed at a meeting of The Supporters Club Committee, I believe. There was reference to the game in a couple of matchday programmes, and entry forms were available in the clubhouse and club shop.

12 people entered the thing.

In order to establish why the idea did not fire the enthusiasm of more fans, we need to consider the views of those who did.

Brew. On the table published at the top of this thread, and from subsequent postings, the identity of 4 of the entrants has been given. I'll have a word with them. That leaves 8. Are their identities clear from the table on display in the clubhouse/shop?
