Ashford Town 1-2 Rebels

A hard fought victory although we had enough chances to win a couple of games. The Ashford keeper made several good stops including in the lead up to both goals. Great finishes from Burnell and Burgess for the goals and we hung on a little at the end without the goal really being threatened.

The referee was quite terrible. Being rubbish you can accept as long as he's consistent, but he favoured Ashford hugely. He ignored their number 11 hoofing the ball upfield in the first half after a free kick had been awarded yet booked Adam Logie for stalling over taking a throw. That was just one example of many. It didn't change the outcome fortunately and we roll on with another 3 points.

Not sure what happened with the Ashford goal. The corner seemed to evade James and drop in at the far post.

3 points in the bag after two very well taken goals from DB and Ollie. The goal just before half-time from DB was crucial in our quest for the win.

Also good use of our very good squad today (unlike against North Greenford).

I thought Jerome Anderson did well today and always looked dangerous with his pace.

Well done to the team and now to exact revenge on Chalfont.

Second half much better than the first, and although we only won by one goal, towards the end we looked much more likely to score than Ashford.

Somewhat surprisingly, since the last few games we havn't been at our best, we are top of the form league.

And today we beat the team in 4th place in the form league despite still not being at our best.

Really enjoyed second half and was impressed with Ashford.

I also thought Ashford had some very good youngsters who were not afraid to carry the ball and run at players.

Don't know his name but very impressed with the Ashford youngster, I think in midfield (with shaven head, might be number 6). He looked very impressive with his surging runs.

If they can keep that team together I think they will do well next season.

Sounds like Ashley Lodge our number 8 and thanks for the nice comments... I agree that our keeper was the busier but we had a decent share of the game and a draw would not have been an unfair result... Hopefully we can keep our young squad together and push up towards the higher end of the league next season

Decent game overall yesterday, first half was not great but we stuck at it and forced some good saves from the keeper and got it back to 1-1. Not really sure what happened for their goal but it seemed everyone midjudged it.

Second half we were much better and forced some more good chances and possession. Ollie's finish for his goal was superb control. Special mention to Anderson for creating some good chances yesterday too.
