I did not expect to win-but always disappointing regardless.

Bit of a surprise selection with Cloke playing in central midfield-where he did ok'ish-nothing special-but nobody was today

frankly-Lowestoft were superior in all aspects.

I think they had a good day-and we had a very average day.

Just did not/could not get going at all.

Lowestoft were dominant throughout-especially in first half.

No-one played bad/no one played good.

It will have shown CK that we have a long long way to go to get to play-off level.

Murphys goal-slightly fortuitous-decent long range strike after good ball from ww-but keeper ought to have done better.(apart from one header in first half-thsat was our only effort that got near goal.

Defended resolutely in first half(it was like the Alamo ).Big shame that conceded in first half injury time to a corner-having defended quite well against about 10 other corners.

Corner came from a free kick'conceded ' by Beales-that he was most upset about-he obviously thought it was never a free kick and had another go at ref at half time (i think it actually affected his overall game )

Had we gone in level-who knows.

Slightly better for MFC in second half-but Lowestoft were better all round.

We can play better though-but again-i think Lowestoft stopped us playing and were a good all round team-nothing special-but simply just a a bit better than us in everything on the day.

as i said-we never got going at all-but Lowestoft take the credit for that..

Worst aspect was that we just did not pick up 'second ball' in midfield-so never had any possession and ball to work with.

What else did we learn-well the lowestoft pitch was very green-must be the norfolk turkey droppings used as manure (yes i know lowestoft is in suffolk ) .

Their programme used a really weird typeface/font

For any one interested-which does not seem many -here is the lowestoft match report.

Pretty accurate imo:

http://www.lowestofttownfc.co.uk/s/match-report-50851.html?official=1&fixture_id=330840

They were simply that bit better in all aspects.

What can we do about it-well given the limited resources at his disposal-i'd like to see the front two and midfield press and harass a bit more-to use the cliche-play a higher line.

i thinmk defence is ok-but will concede as constantly under pressure-we are not overwhelmed with quality in midfield and attack-so need to make most of what we have-and expend 10% more energy and press more-just to get a bit more possession.

We miss Danny stubbs 'pressing game-it looked headless chicken-but it was effective--he's gone all sophisticated these days !!

Murphy and small should start it up front as well-don't let them settle so much.

Lowestoft were able to 'set up' their forays too easily.

That given-again-Lowestoft were simply a better team and no disgrace in losing to them

Obviously easier said than done-but we ae not goijng to win a talent contest in midfield/attack so make most of what you have-and earn a bit more possession.

Are the players fit enouigh to play a slightly more pressing game though-i'd like to think if the skills are'nt 105 better than other teams-at least the fitness levels are

Spot on CE, tomorrow night will tell us more as AFC Hornchurch are better away than at home, though saying that they are our bogey team over the last 4 or 5 seasons!

I didn't think Lowestoft were that good, we were just poorer. At beginning of season i would have had as many of you, Lowestoft as a good bet for the title, but on Sat performance i very much doubt they will be good enough.

As for us well like everyone else i approach each game with that blind optimism. But on sat very disappointed. sure the team gave their all, but the play was alas lacking in that killer punch. Saying that the ref would not allow any contact at all, the slightest contact by MFC on Lowestoft the ref blew as they appealed every time. Cloke got booked for verbal, id sooner he got booked for a hard crunching tackle.

On the positive Tommy Murphy is a gem we need to look after him, he never seems to grumble just gets on with the job. And of course being very biased I would always play Matt Bodkin.

Simon had a goodish game. Wade (i think thats his name) needs to get quicker, harder, and more involved if he is to impress me.
