Friday 23rd March COVE v ASH UNITED

Recommended Posts

Very disappointed with game! Thought both teams were poor but agree with jj a fair result. Or maybe a draw would have been more fair? I don't know!!!!

What I do know is that the atmosphere at the game was similar to that of a morgue! Thought a Friday night fixture would have brought a bit of spunk to the sidelines!

Not quite sure how Cove won but Ash have to be kicking themselves. Ash started strongly and went 1 up. Then conceded a very soft equaliser before retaking the lead with a well worked goal. 2-1 at half time. Although Cove had more of the ball in the 2nd half they never really looked like scoring until the Ash keeper made a right howler with 8 to go to gift an equaliser. Equally as poor was the tackle that followed a minute later that saw an Ash player get a straight red and within 5 minutes more poor defending allowed Cove to snatch the winner.

Good job you weren't assessing fella, as it was a second yella ;) Eagle was lucky he only got a yellow, after he grabbed the Ash 7 by the throat in the aftermath. Our referee was fresh from Sandhurst v Farnham last Saturday!

Not the greatest game, with little quality and some really soft goals!

still believed we did enough to get at least a point out of this game but credit to Cove they never gave up. Right decision on the sending off but could have been 10 men all with the cove player going also & then maybe a different outcome.

Should have taken our chances in the first half & then it would have been difficult for Cove to get back into the game

Looking at that sending off I'm astonished that the Cove player who grabbed the Ash player by the throat only got a yellow card, he then goes on to score the winner for them. That Referee needs to have a look at himself if he doesn't think that's a red card he shouldn't be refereeing at any standard.

Maybe it was the grey shirts aupostie! Didn't Manchester Utd use that excuse down at the Dell some years back? Not keen on that strip, how is it you didn't wear the home strip as it hardly clashes with yellow?

We got the grey kit so we could use the home kit just really for home game, then hopefully the kit will last alot longer & maybe do at least 2 seasons, maybe more
