Bedworth v St Neots

Recommended Posts

It's starting to look like that North Greenford result is going to seriously bite us in the ass!

I will of course remain optimistic as there is still a lot that can happen in 7 games but I think we are set for the play offs!

we still just got to worry about ourselves. make sure we get some form going and keep our confidence and spirits up. if its the playoffs its the playoffs but its not like they are going 9 points clear or something today its still close. we still might have a sniff of a chance just need to be in position to take it

even if we had won that we would still be second on goal difference.

Level on points but 2nd on goal difference is better than 3 points behind and a worse goal difference!

Never mind though, we are where we are and it's been an awesome season so far, it's not over yet!

COME ON YOU REBELS!!!

It still seems a lot of you don't really understand football-I said weeks ago our only hope is the play offs !

Any good judge of football and footballer's determination to suceed can see that a mile away.

We are second in the league and having a great season, cheer up.

I can see merits on both of these postings.

Until we know where Slough finish in the table/play-off outcome,we can't say wether it's been a success or failure. To win any division outright, takes some doing. The season so far has been an enjoyable ride but bumpy in patches.

I can see the progress Steve Bateman has made with the squads he's had over the last 3 and a half years and even if he fails this year, in getting us promoted, I still think he should be manager next season and maybe, for the following season, even if we're still in the same division.

However, there's no doubt in my mind that some of the games we lose is down to lack of motivation, poor tactical mis-management and players thinking they know best, and their poor indiscipline. So there's still plenty of room for improvement !

I said before the season started that if we are challenging for the title (and not struggling for 5th place), even if we don't get it and finish 2nd, I would consider that a success. I stand by that.

That's not to say I have not been most disappointed with the manner of some of our defeats this season (and it was the manner more than the actual defeats themselves that I was disappointed with; although the defeats were bad for obvious reasons).

I just hope that this season won't be a case of "what might have been if it weren't for a couple of bad days at the office"!

If st Neots were not in this league you would have pi---d it. Your manager or any other team would not have know they would be so strong. saints had the same last year with Kings Lynn coming in their league. The squad was improved with 3 months to go and they finished top. Seems to be that way this season as well. They sorted out their away record and that has been the major thing for them.

Both teams should go up though at least I hope so.

Not being funny but maybe your chairman / manager should come on the forum and give some of you a "pep" talk to remain positive in all that is slough town fc

Ours did, even though many read it the wrong way and slaughtered our chairman.

If you ever spoke to him you will find total passion for football and St Neots town fc

Good luck hope you get your promotion via the play offs of course.

Two very good sides, different styles, but both very good. Just out of interest how do you think both sides, as they are would fair in the Premier League?

Both would do just fine and would challenge for a playoff spot, I think.

I sometimes think we do our best to de-motivate ourselves. Even if things are not going well, we can make a difference! Tactics sometimes are brilliant and sometimes they do not come off because the other side has countered it. We have had some bad decisions against us and one or two fortunate ones. I want us to be top, and I cannot say 100% we will win the play-offs. 2 years back we scraped the play-offs and then pushed Hitchin out, only to be slaughtered at Chesham. However, we have had several better seasons than three years of misery compounded with uncertainty over our future. The next few years should be very good where the club grows and who knows what will happen.

St Neots are a great club with tons of enthusiasm. Their fans were great in defeat (as we can be too - who else will be chanting we will win 10-9 when 9-0 down!). I still want to be top, but apart from that I wish them well. I think both clubs would be mid table in the first season in the Premier Division. Signings could make a difference of course.

Let us show rather more positiveness and we are in this to enjoy the run in and see what we can achieve. I still reckon we will go up!!!

Up the rebels!
