looks like itll be game on next saturday sqeeky bum time for guernsey can they handle the pressure , can we against cobham tues ;)

With a 2000+ crowd predicted we'll see whose bums squeak the most Newby ;)

Not really sure who's predicting the 2000 plus crowd, the Guernsey Press I imagine!

1200 is the biggest since November and I don't see 800 more appearing because were playing Bedfont. I'd predict if the weather is as lovely as it is today we may get 1500-1700.

FF, you don't think there will be a big crowd to see GFC possibly crowned champions?

I don't think there will be 2000 people.

I reckon 1700 tops though I'd be happy to be proven wrong. Hopefully the improved spring weather brings back the fairweather fans who were around before Christmas.

I'm sure we won't actually be crowned as the league won't be dishing out the trophy when a team can still match them for points, even if they do have a ridiculous goal differential!

No, guernsey will win the league if they beat Bedfont on Saturday. Current points difference is 6 points with both teams still with three matches to play. If Bedfont win mid-week then they will be three points behind so a guernsey win will put them six points ahead and Bedfont would only have one match remaining... Or is my maths crap?

Subs: J. Winch, de Garis, Dyer, Isabelle, Dodd

Brilliant start to the match with a 25 yard free-kick from Ryan Zico Black, unstoppable free-kick into the top corner of the net, 1-0 Green Lions after just 3 minutes. Despite conceding an early goal Bedfont got back into the match after 15 mins, when Kamani scored from inside the 6 yard box, after Guernsey failed to clear the ball. Matt Loaring fired Guernsey into 2-1 lead, when he struck home from a free kick swung in from the right wing.

Bedfont, knowing full well that they had to win this match, started the better of the teams in the second half, but it was Guernsey who struck the vital blow when Dom Heaume scored to put the Green Lions into a 3-1 lead. This goal really knocked the stuffing out of Bedfont and within two minutes they went further behind when Dave Rihoy converted and made it 4-1. A sublime volley from Dom Heaume made it 5-1 and the crowd were on their feet, roaring on their team to finish the game in style. There was no way back for Bedfont who, to their credit, continued to push forward, but it was Glyn Dyer in the 89th minute who made it 6-1, leaving the Green Lions 'goal machine', Ross Allen to put the icing on the cake, as he struck home the 7th, deep into injury time.

GFC substitutions - Glyn Dyer and Jamie Dodd on for Scott Bradford and Ollie McKenzie 58 mins

GFC substitution - Jason Winch replaces Dave Rihoy 67 mins

CROWD - RECORD CROWD - 2143

Fantastic, historic day for Guernsey FC as they are crowned Combined Counties Division 1 champions, after an entertaining, attacking display against their nearest rivals, second placed Bedfont Sports. Great atmosphere down at Footes Lane this afternoon, record crowd, absolutely brilliant for the fans.

Special mention for our UK Green Army who travelled over from the mainland and never stopped singing from the time they entered the stadium to the time they left, take a bow, you were truly inspirational.

What a magnificant first season this has been, promoted as champions and the style you have done it in, it is a real credit to to all at Guernsey FC and Channel Island football.

Many congratulations Tony Vance and Colin Fallaize, you have done a brilliant job in managing these lads.

Enjoy your celebrations, you fully deserve all the accolades coming your way.

The fans will be back again next Friday, that is for sure.
