Somethings wrong !

Something is wrong somewhere.Winning football matches is not only about players who supposedly are a cut above or who have reputations of being a good player.

Its all about "" DESIRE " and good " MOTIVATION " from the management, sadly I feel both are missing ,

Hang on, haven't we just gone 2-1 up?!?

Yes but I was talking in general terms-look at al the low league sides that have beaten us. We should really be so far in front of St. Neots that their chairman would have needed specsavers to se our backs.

Have you looked at the games St Neots have lost along the way this season? Quite a few low teams, some were even bottom!...Like Cookham said Football doesn't work like that

Football doesn't work like that I'm afraid!!!

How come Rangers and Celtic and Real Madrid and Barcelona keep on winning their leagues, they only succumb to lowly opposition occassionally.

Sorry but I have been watching or been involved in football 40 yrs or more so I think i know how football works.

You cannot compare the Scottish Premier League and La Liga to the Evo Stik Central Division!

What nonsense. All teams will on occasions beat better teams and lose to worse ones. Football has been like that since time began and will continue to be like that.

The Rebels and St Newts are the best two teams in this division but both have lost to lowly teams during the course of this season. Despite these losses the table reinforces the fact we're the best two teams.

The difference between the Bigot Brothers aka the Old Firm and the lower teams in the SPL is far bigger than the difference between Slough and the other sides in the league.

Look at the attendances for a start. Rangers and Celtic get over 40,000 a week. Half of the SPL get crowds of 4000-6000. This season, Slough have averaged nearly 300 and the rest of the league (other than St. Neots) have 75-200. The point being that the gap between the sides is far, far bigger in the SPL.

Plus, one of the main reasons for the gap in leagues like Scotland and Spain is the Champions League. Almost every year it's the same two sides that qualify and by getting into the top two in Scotland the Old Firm get a disproportionately high amount of money from the league (it's designed to help the Old Firm). In the SPL, to vote to change anything the vote has to go 11-1 from the clubs rather than the obvious 7-5. Everything is set-up to benefit the Old Firm and keep the status quo.

Ok, I've gone off-topic here but the top sides will always drop some points against the lower sides in evry single league regardless of size.

Why would you say that they have scored 97 goals this season, maybe its you who need to go to specsavers.

The two best teams are at the summit of the division by a long way, lets hope both go up.

I don't know if I should really be saying things like this after an unlikely comeback, but I can't help but think that people are misunderstanding the point of hotspur's post.

If I was a neutral watching the game on Tuesday and the first 85 minutes today, I honestly would not have known that Slough were a side challenging for the title! I'd have thought that we were a mid-table side, who've had a couple of good results during the season and were hoping that another one might fly in throw the open window!

Thank goodness that the players snapped into gear right at the end, but let's also hope that they realise just how close they came to handing the title to St Neots!

COYR! - the season didn't end last week; we're still in this with 7 games left! But we can't play like we have for the last 2 games and still expect to be challenging.

A little perspective please......

A young fit promising footballer is battling for his life right now. Can we put aside our bickering just for a few hours and put our energy into praying for Fabrice Muamba

Sorry, I hadn't been watching the Spurs game and had no idea what had happened when I posted. I hope he pulls through.

So how come we can beat or hold our own against say the top 5 teams yet lose against the so called lesser sides and while doing so look UNINTERESTED ?

Next you'll be telling me Barcelona are a better side than the Real Madrid of the 50's or Brazil of 1970.before you answer bear in mind those teams had to put up with horrendous tackling, whereas your not allowed to tackle Messi etc in todays game.
