Is Pabs playing for you guys tomorrow? I need to find a couple of Vets for tomorrow. In fact anyone reading this of Vets age and fancies a game tomorrow then let me know. Playing over Loughton direction.

There are only 3/4 local players who are still there from the previous regime, whether this is a good thing or not is a matter of opinion, however, the problem lies that the fans dont really relate to the new players because they see new faces every week and also these players dont socialise in the bar after a game. You could argue that what happens on the pitch is the important fact but everyone knows that local clubs like Hertford need to turn over a pound note behind the bar to ensure that bills are paid etc etc.

 

Good points made in your posting for sure - but would like to pick up on this one however. Was back in UK in Jan and attended 2 home games in Jan. For St Mags (2-2) - a pretty good gate well over a hundred. After the game it was quite correct that none of the players turned up in the bar - but I was told that the manager was "having words" with the team - and this went on and on ..

For Harringay/gey B (also a good gate-100+) - a couple of weeks later (0-2) - most of them did - and the bar was doing good business despite the defeat. So I'm left kinda wondering if it's as bad as is being suggested.

Can't comment much on the "lack of local players" except that I would assume that staying in league is the priority - and the massive changes that seem to have occurred in the last couple of weeks have seen 2 wins from 3 - in an entirely unpredictable manner but that's HTFC for you....

Hi Dave.....in fairness mate you're close pals at the club will confirm the bar situation...I would suggest that things have got worse since you were over mainly due to a few "regular" faces having left. Great win on Tuesday night and a good win at Levvy Green, perhaps the fortunes may have changed on the pitch but that isnt really the issue according to the article.

Easy mistake to make - obviously we are both svelt, Adonis-like individuals, in our prime, but I'm the slightly better-looking one :D

I was there but had the kids with me so no highlights I'm afraid. Nice to see a recent crowd at hertingfordbury park. Hertford looked decent enough and a draw could of been a fair result. They lacked a real cutting edge up front as Ryan Wade wasn't playing. Wade played for Cheshunt on Saturday.

 

Most of my time was spent running after the little ones so my assessment may be wrong!

TheColdEnd - I did notice a chap at the game trying to keep some children under control so that must have been you then, I do sympathise but at least they weren't swinging on the bars of the players tunnel like monkeys
