Enfield Town V Ilford

Played Ilford a few weeks ago, thought their back four were poor, think you should take all three points, without too much trouble. <img src="/images/graemlins/redbanana.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/redbanana.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/redbanana.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/redbanana.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/redbanana.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/redbanana.gif" alt="" />

On Saturday we were talking about how we could get on Clarkees nerves. We thought it might be a good ruse to mimic the Clarkee huff with a deep sigh head into shoulders and mutter all the way back to onside after each off-side decision!

Any better ideas - They must be polite (unless its Fruitbat)?

Perhaps we could arm ourselves with linesman's (sorry, referee's assistant's) flags and help the ref every time Clarkee strays off-side?

what are the odds on either Brad marking him and staying on the pitch for 90 minutes?

There's more chance of Clarkee forgetting who he plays for and scoring twice in the wrong end!
Think it's Brad Brotherton's turn for an early bath tonight.

Mind you, I wouldn't be surprised to see Clarkee getting himself sent off if we go a couple of goals up.

Why wind him up at all? W know he is, err, highly strung. But he was a good servant to the club for two years and was our hero. He has moved on and naturally we want to win, and don't want him to score on this occassion.

Why not confine ourselves to a bit of good natured banter, perhaps an ironic cheer if he misses a chance but polite applause if he scores?

Let's maintain our dignity and sportsmanship and welcome our former favourite back.

Agree with Invis as well. Clarke was a good servant for two years and without him I wonder whether we would have won what we have.

I guess we'll see Cove and Smith up front again. A good combination but I just can't wait to see if Smith and Cooper can form a good partnership when Cooper returns from injury.

The 5-3-2 doesn't really work as well without Matty Negus as has been said before.

The team I'd like to see would be:

Cove Cooper

Quinn Smith Brotherton

Negus Gant Baldwin Snowden Allen

Hall

We could perhaps do with a bit more guile in midfield, but that team certainly looks pretty solid and has plenty of goal-scorers.

I completely agree with Invis on Clarkee he was brilliant for us. I for one will happily applaud should he score tonight. I'm sure there will only be good-natured banter. I'm just hoping for a good game!

The most impressive thing about that line-up - which I can't find much fault with - is who is NOT in it! It's without Rids in midfield who is probably the nearest thing to a playmaker we have. There's also the permanently injured John Everitt. We also have Jasons Geraghty and Nash - I rather like Nash, I would like to see him get a few more games.

That midfield is, err, competetive, to say the least!

Up front there's Miller, Grant, Riley and Toski on the bench, not to mention Keke and Andy Carr. No room for Graeme at the back either.

That;'s off the top of my head - I'm sure I've forgotten a few. Thinking about it I'd quite fancy our reserve team's chances in the league!
