Team/squad tonight v harrow

Just got in-and checked out the team/squad.

I don't think anyone would have seen that team/squad coming !

would anyone have got as many as 13 out of the 16 right !

more chance of winning the lottery than getting those names right.

Hope they can do well for CK

Good to see groombridge may be nearing fitness-pleased for him.

Even better to see Wilson given a chance-hope he takes it.

Great result-really pleased.

Don't care if we were rubbish or world beaters-its 3 points -great stuff.

Pleased for CK and JL in particular.

Buys a bit of breathing space going into a 10 day break-and maybe time to sort a few things out and get better.

Thats as many points as we achieved last season with 9 games still to go-so again-a good achievement in first full season by CK and JL imo.

clean sheet as well-excellant

Last 20 minutes we used all the grass, it made a welcome change from hoist it up the middle and look what happened........ lots of serious attacks and eventually a goal.

Wayne showed what the team has been missing with some classy distribution keeping the pressure on in the right half of the pitch,Dan must have run twice as far as anyone else with good effect especially with his varied corners. And well done everybody for sticking at it.

Looks promising if the team use all the grass and stretch the opposition wide in future.

I agree we used a lot more of the area in the last twenty or so minutes but why oh why does CK wait until the dying minutes before bringing on these players. Ok Adam Burchall does'nt always deliver but by god he scares the crap out of defenders when he comes on, so why not use this earlier and maybe capitalise on their dis-array. Murphy was MoM in my opinion because of his industry and workrate (oh and also his EXTREMELY well taken GOAL) we are playing as if Kwesi were still in the team because of the long hoof balls forward to a diminutive striker that is looking short of fitness and not used to the Ryman style of play. Did we play well - better than them - will we progress - nope and in truth the last few games have probably done the club more harm than good because the entertainment value has gone. Roll on the new season with the new stadium (ever hopeful) and a push on for Conference South :)

Not there-so maybe a bit unfair of me-and we all want different things-but personally-when attending i gewt my 'entertainment quota by seeing a win and three points secured-and could'nt give two hoots how that is achieved.

Good result

Interesting comments from BD re: wilson-who i see won m-of m.

he may not be Beckham-but as BD says-the one player who gives a bit of extra creativity-which i would have thought blends well with the qualities of the other midfield players.gives variety/options

8 goals in 27 appearances from a midfield player is a good return last season as well.

ok he has been injured-but why CK has not played him before is beyond me.

will he play him more regularly now though ?

Got to the ground just before k.o. and must say I was surprised at the teamsheet. Think I'm right that Curtis is suspended (though surely injured after the bashing he got on Saturday), but Bradbrook & Corneille not named at all & Wayne starting (after not even being on the bench on Saturday) were surprises.

I agree with the comments about Burchell - he's not really a 90 minute player, but should be given at least 30 minutes - especially as Wade Small does not look fully match-fit. I thought Wayne ran out of steam a long time before he was replaced too.

As for the result, I felt sure that it was going to be a second 0-0 in a row - Harrow seemed well organised in both defence and attack (making nonsense of their League position). Murphy's goal was well taken (& well deserved - he was my MoM - I don't get the 'sentimental' MoM awards the sponsors give ... but they've paid their money so have the right to make their pick I suppose).

Another 3 points leaves us well away from the re-election/relegation zone so that gives us the rest of March + April to play without having to look over our shoulders .

After all those years away from the Management hotseat it's good to know CK hasn't lost his touch. Now he can begin to plan his buys & cuts for 2012-13 (and hopefully give us a squad that'll be up for a promotion push).

All the players ran their socks off last night. Got to the ball first on most occasions (which is something we haven't been doing of late). Intercepted well & ran & ran all night. A good all round effort against I must add a mediocre Harrow. However a good win & good performance.

Wilson was my m.o.t.m closely followed once again by Ball who was again superb at the back in the centre of defence. All the back line did well in fact.

Burchell indeed does scare the pants off opponents & should be given more time on. If only his last ball was improved he would be even better.

We are still lacking up front but on the night managed to get a goal & keep a clean sheet & that brings about 3 points.

Well done to all of the them.

Bradbrook had a prior engagement he couldnt get out off, Corneiile cant play Tuesdays due to new job and I believe Cloke was injured.

Murphy was excellent as was Stubbs n Wilson in midfield. We hit bar twice, cleared off line twice and a couple of great saves from their keeper so not sure what game some were looking at!! Dean Hill also played well along with Ball n Beales who look a great pairing now in centre.

I also thought WW had a good game last night which made it more infuriating when someone launched into a verbal attack on him after one misplaced header!

However, the same person also kept asking Kinnear 'Where has the money gone?'. I am assuming he was referring to Appiah's transfer fee and if so he must be the only person who assumed the entire sum would be instantly re-invested in the squad.
