This manager has only ever had two good results for us:

City 2-0 Aldershot

Hornchurch 0-1 City

Given what Voice has said, Rob, you're saying you'd be happy to have two good wins, and beat Colney and Braintree in what amounts to a season of football.

 

I think Harrow was just as much a test as Braintree will be and we failed.

Laz, what I am saying is the poor performances have gone on for too long now and it is time some sort of target was set over the next week or two otherwise we'll be down in the bottom four and out of all the cups.

 

Losing to Colney and/or Braintree (no disrespect to them) would be the last straw for a lot of people.

He's gotta go. Nice bloke and all that, but it's become patently obvious that Robbo was the one pulling all the strings.

 

His sacking is already five months overdue.

I wouldn't say Robbo is exactly setting the world alight at Cambridge City. 16pts from 12 games is not a lot better than our 18pts from 14 games.

But how different are the budgets do you think, and the expectations. We have been told that the budget was the same as last season and have been told the squad is actually better, we were expected to challenge and were 3rd favorites for the division.

I'm sure Robbo has a tiny budget and the expectations of the folk in Cambridge is probably to aviod the drop and try and make the Top 13.

Budget wise I don't know, but I very much doubt if Cambridge City's is significantly less than ours to make a massive difference. Expectation wise, we probably did have more after last season, but our injury list is a hell of a lot worse than at this time last year.

 

My point was that if Robbo was so much better and pulled all the strings, he'd probably be doing a little better. They both brought something different to the table in their partnership, which I think is evident in their performances as solo managers since.

They obviously work well as a team as they are differnent personalitys but not as singular managers!

We may or may not of kept the right one and Robbo on his own may of done just as bad, but the fact is this manager is not any good.

In hindsight we maybe should of dispatched the pair or kept the pair.

 

Injuries have not helped, but only Rob Smith has been out for fair while whereas there seems to be a fair amount of squad roatation for no apparent reason. And if Steve Castle as assistant manager can't even be bothered on the pitch it says a lot about the passion for the club!

Cookie has been in charge for 42 games - that is the equivilant of a whole ryman season before last seasons expansion, he has lost 20 games and won only 15, that equals the equvilent of 52 points in total, this is where we would of finished in a 42 game season over the last few years!

My thoughts were what we all knew: the team's been sh*t since Christmas, so why would two wins against a local pub team and an in-bred Essex pub team prove that he has what it takes.
