Let me just say - I work in Billericay and it is possibly the most boring place on earth. For lunchtime entertainment you have:<p>Lake Meadows - Very Pretty - Very Boring<p>LA Fitness Club - Very Small and possibly the worlds smallest Carpark!!<p>The Edwardian Club - 1960's 10 Pin bowling with shoes as old to match. Also includes a rather crap American Pool Table and 8 dimmly lit snooker tables. Also shares the same carpark as LA Fitness.<p>The Pilgrim Public House - Just had a Re-Furb and still as dingy as ever. Best place to go for drugs and stun guns.<p>The High Street - Not boasting that Canvey has a good high street or anything but Billericays is just as Bad - 4 Pubs - all rubbish and a Woolworths. All the other shops are pointless and never have anyone in them - Except maybe Waitrose (Billericay people do like to pretend to be posh)<p>Conclusion: Boring - At least Basildon is only 10 mins away - phew

dan the canvey man there are in fact 7 pubs in the high street, 8 if you include quilters. You forgot to mention the library, maybe you'll find some lunch time excitement in there. Or you could always visit the Lodge, maybe even wash your car in the BP carwash. You could even visit the Carter musuem and take in a history of Billericay. Nothing to do at dinner time, you haven't looked hard enough boy.

Well yes merv the game has been very much hyped up. So canvey v Gravesend is going to be a very big game and viewed by many.<p>Also how much will the coach cost.
