Think there player was sent off harshly to which I told the ref as for the pen player going away from goal just stand up! Apart from the pen don't think they would have scored again 3rd goal caught trying to get something so left 1 marking 2, these things happen as for our sending off no probes with that hare but what about your 6 stamping on his chest ! I thought he didn't mean it but looking at it 10-15 times he knew what he was doing

Yep I missed that, not sure if you could call it a stamp hard one to call but your lad was wrong retaliating like he did. Can't say it looked too bad but I wasn't underneath it.

I agree the penalty was soft, the third was on the counter but you could also say if we had taken our chances should have been 4 up at half time.

Pen was a pen it wasn't soft as for Yourselves being 4 up I would beg to differ, as for the stamp have a look at the great TRS coveridge it clearly shows him look then do what he did, good to meet you to mate

Mole valley SCR 2 v Epsom 4

 

Very poor game and Very poor performance by us and the game was really won by Epsom having better finishing as both teams struggled to play anything that resembled good football.

 

Epsoms 1st goal was a good finish (overhead kick) and also there 4th goal was a wonder strike that left us all in shock cos for the previous 88 mins before the same player struggled to kick a 5 yard ball let alone a 25 yarder lol.

 

Special credit must go to the ref who decided that although two teams turned up to play football he wanted to be the centre of attention and spent most of the game stopping it and calling players over for bookings after conversations with players and not for anything nasty cos it wasn't that sort of game.

 

For me he completely ruined the flow of the match. One laughable example was when we had possession of the ball and we was running down the wing he decided to stop the game and have a discussion with our centre back then pull the game all the way back to the half way line and give us a free kick.

 

It's sad to say that this very poor official who will be loved by the fa cos he must be making them a fortune on bookings will be fast tracked through the leagues and eventually found out for the terrible way he refs the game when he reaches a level that is televised.

 

Anyway good luck to Epsom they deserved there win and we look forward to another tough game again Dorking tomorrow night

i havent played for roughly 3/4 months so that is not the case i do alot more than just play not that i have to justify anything to anyone couldnt give a monkeys really lol !!!!

I would agree that the flow of the match was stopped a little too often, although the one main instruction the ref gave at the briefing before the game was about verbals. Players need to realise this when faced with certain officials or we all know who will lose.

 

I actually thought we showed a lot of character especially as we were coming off the 6-0 defeat and lost our Captain to Egham the night before. When Mole Valley got it back to 2-2 we certainly could have crumbled, but didn't. We have two fantastic strikers right now so it's all about whether we can get the ball to them enough. Against Molesey we couldn't, but MV gave us a bit more room.

 

That said, with the Holden brothers back there I think they can score enough goals to keep them up if they can keep it fairly tight at the back. I think they are seven points adrift and they now face two important games with Dorking and Colliers Wood this week.

 

And I'd also like to wish them good luck. We share a similar plight in not having our own ground and they are a really nice group down there. I hope they stay up.

Very true E&E ed, and we did warn our players to be careful around this official, not that it did some of them any good.

 

The unfortunate thing is that he seems to go out of his way to create confrontation. His attitude towards the players is shocking, constantly putting them down and talking to them like kids.

 

The Respect campaign does have it's merits, but it has to be a two way thing.

 

Our final booking came about when he said to one of our players, something along the lines of "well, i have refereed a higher standard" - to which our players response was "well why don't you f..k off back there then". No doubting it was a yellow, but without the comment from the ref, it wouldn't have happened (and this from an official who just prior to dismissing one of players last year told him to "come here boy").

 

As for the game, we were shocking to start with - Jarman looked the class player on the pitch - all action, good touch, good pace and good finish.

 

Thought once we got back into it we might go on and get something, but we fell away again, and were probably lucky it was only 4.

I always find it uncomfortable to read adverse reports around the performance of fellow match officials. Assuming the club officials at Mole Valley and E&E agree with the comments posted on this forum, then I trust they will objectively mark the referee accordingly and submit a report to CCFL should the marks fall below 50/100. The worse case scenario is clubs who mark referees just over the cut-off mark to 'avoid the paperwork'.This is a cop out and does nobody any good.

i know mate ive missed alot of games this season but been in an around the team the whole season im starting to realise that it wont be long till the youngsters catch me lol i had a knee op at the start of season also aswell as this groin one so yeah fingers crossed i can get a few in now an start my pre season early as i know itll be tough for me old legs i wont pack it in just yet reckon at least two more if lucky just have to pick an choose when im available for selection body permitting lol

i honestly dont know what im gona feel when i have to hang em up ill be devastated footballs in my blood like all who play cut me in half it says football like a stick of a rock surprised my missus puts up with me but then again she is a bulman

I would agree with your views on that Middleman. However, in practice marking below the 50 rarely happens and this is quite probably because it causes clubs more work. There is also the doubt (maybe unfounded) that a poor decision might come back to haunt the club concerned.

 

Personally I wouldn't have marked this referee below that figure (although I understand why MV might do) but we have certainly had two others recently where I would have done had I been doing the paperwork.

Had a chat about this with Ace last night. Clubs need to make sure that whoever marks the ref does it with the guide that is issued, presuming one is still issued, and also do it without any hint of bias in the report. I think you would be surprised if this is done how few reports would be done and the ones that are would be useful rather than just a moan up.

 

As I said to Ace in my years of assessing I never assessed a referee who should have been marked low enough by either club to merit a report. I dont doubt there are performances around that do deserve them though.

 

Reports should contain plenty of evidence to back up the low marks and be constructive and not destructive.
