Enfield 2 Basildon 3.

I know Enfield 1893 are in decline results wise, but that's still a cracking result for Basildon Utd.

Bethnal Green lost 3-1 to Sawbo and was officiated by possibly 3 of the worst offficials I have ever seen at this level. I think the officials this year have been pretty good. The ones we had in the Vase run were exceptional. But last night it was only the discipline and control of the players that prevented a serious injury happening because the officials showed no control or leadership. Some of the decisons were baffling to be polite. A non malicious high foot from a Sawbo player resulted in a cut to the eye of a BGU player that needed hospital treatment yet the referee deemed it a fair tackle despite the players foot being at least 5ft in the air. It was only the sportmanship of the Sawbo player who kicked the ball off that allowed the player to be treated. At any level the players welfare and saftey is the most important aspect of any game and if officials like this are allowed to offiate like they did last night then someone is going to get seriously hurt. Apparently there was an assessor there last night. As a club does anyone know if we can view their report?

It is sad to see Bethnal Green struggling since we acquired Justin Gardner. I believe they have lost every game since. The sooner they get Kevin Durrant in there the better from what I can tell.

Kevin being Kevin, a loyal and honest guy, has probably agreed to see the season out before taking up the Bethnal Green hotseat. It wouldn't surprise me at all. One of the most honourable men i know.

Mr Hoffman you are a very very funny man.

I will visit Bethnal Green before the season ends. I only live in Hackney they can be my Essex side & Mr Jenko can be my friend.

Mr Basil, that was an exceptional win, you & Mr Hookey must be proud proud men.

Why me?

Your picture says Basildon Town, that's why.

That was a very good win v Enfield.

It was indeed but Basildon Town are not Basildon Utd.

Town only play in the Essex Olympian League. That said I want Basildon Utd to do well (My son played for them for a short while), however my ESL team is Bowers & Pitsea.

Enfield have 3 regulars left from the 16/20 man squad at Xmas, have kept the side going by playing players from the Capital league side and looking out for players from local Sunday football/ 5 a side etc. Very young side but battling hard and have been a credit to the club. A statement is on Enfield Website.

More candiates for 'worst 'OFFIATCIALS' of the year' award at Basildon after Enfield Centre half harshly booked then mistakenly booked again for encroaching from the resulting free kick, all refused to listen even after the Basildon bench to their credit told them they'd got it wrong and not to send him off. Basildon much improved and should not be taken lightly- Woodsy has done a good job there and are capable of pulling off some shocks.
