v Northwood

shame St Neots got back into it but just gotta worry about ourselves and getting the win

wasn't amazing today but thoroughly deserved to win the game. not sure if Northwood had more than 1 maybe 2 attempts on goal in the entire game. they were massively worse than the exciting team we played against at their place

we were desperate for a goal from somewhere and Lloyd Owusu pops up with the diving header to clinch the vital 3 points

Sweeney was awesome going forward today something you perhaps dont expect from him. Swift was everywhere today quality effort from him. Burnell put a lof of effort but just didnt happen for him. so good to have Murphy back and he fit straight back in though tired hopefully him goin of was only tiredness anyway

Barton is the kind of game we struggle in usually especially on Tuesday nights so massive effort needed to get the win there. must forget about the St Neots game till after Tuesday or we will slip up

COYR!!! Title race is far from over!!

The next 3 weeks are crucial to the title race, I would love to see us go to St Neots and win, it is certainly not beyond us but the entire team need to bring it big time... If we come away with a point it will a great result especially as St Neots have 3 very tricky away games in quick succession against Rugby, Chertsey and Bedworth after next Saturday and we have 2 very winnable home games against North Greenford and Biggleswade in the same period of time!

It's going to the wire!

COME ON YOU REBELS!

Not pretty and still well short of our best but 3 points is all that matters at this stage of the season.

Still think we are not giving Jerome Anderson a fair crack of the whip. He looks good every time he comes on but is still only given a few minutes to do anything. Not as if we were playing well!!

Think it's a certainty we'll line up for St Neots like this:

Warrington

Brown NBH Woozley

Sweeney Coyne Perkins Swift Murphy

Burnell Owusu

I agree about Anderson though, I like what I've seen and it wouldn't surprise me if he starts against Barton with Sonner as his partner!

Looking forward to Saturday everyone!

St Neots weren't at the races today, it was a weird game with most of the play in the middle of the park with Leighton rarely threatening but Saints failing to create a great a great deal of chances.

Playing 3 at the back sounds ideal next Saturday :D

I am sure any Saints fan would have no trouble naming a line up but where the players will play is a mystery from game to game.

We played 3 at the back when we beat you 2-0 at Holloways Park ;-)

Decent defensive performance today, kept Northwood at bay while creating a few chances. The goal eventually came and we looked good for the win, well done to the team.

Special mention to Danny Burnell who seems to have improved his overall game even though he is not getting goals at the moment. His touches, movement, passing and workrate have improved massively. Sweeney looked good down the right today and Swift put in a good shift in midfield.

I agree about Anderson, needs more time to build on what looks like a promising start. Looking forward to Tuesday and especially Saturday.

I thought Ben Abbey could have had some game time, too.Thought we needed some pace and creativity and was surprised Jerome Anderson never came on earlier but Sean Sonner added some energy and urgency when he arrived, which certainly helped.

Northwood were very poor, to when we played them away and although we weren't at our best,we deserved the 3pts.

My man of the match was Alex Brown, who reminded me of an ostrich in one tackle in the second half ! Perhaps 'The Ostrich' would be a good nickname for him! lol! Like when we used to call Marcus Richardson 'Spider' because he was all legs!

We missed Paul Coyne today [wondered where Adam Logie was?] and Steve Sinclair's trickery to go past a player.

Danny Murphy looked a little rusty but nice to have him back.

We're certainly going to have to up our attacking play/midfield creativity at St Neots, if we are going to give 'the newts' something to think about next week but we have it in the locker to take the game to them and i believe we can turn them over in their backyard,if our players play at their best.

Come On You,Rebels!

Alex Brown amazes me. He looks like he's going to get beaten hands down but then somehow wins the tackle and comes away with the ball. Still not sure how he does it!

Murphy was rusty, which was to be expected and yes we did miss Coyne and Sincs for their industry and being able to take on players.

Sean Sonner gave us a lot more energy and mobility which we lacked for most of the game.

Sonner came on with something like 20 minutes to go, just a shame that Jerome Anderson didn't come on as well.

Forget about St Neots for now, the big game is Tuesday at Barton. A very difficult game to get anything from.

1-0 was the right score.

thought every one played well. Murphy did well after 2 and a bit months out. Swifty was everywhere in midfield closing the space. Perkins moped up every loose ball and shut down any chances their midfield created. Burgess got us going when we did get the ball and beat a few men.

Got to give alot of credit to Danny Burnell not just for this game but 90% of this season he has been working his socks off all game hassling their deffence and winning the clearances up feild. He almost always manages to chest the ball down and hold off the biggest defenders then hold the ball up.(massive improvement from last season)

But for me MoM goes to Sweeney, having Brown as cover for right back when he went foward we got to see some of sweeneys attacking ability which we have rarely seen from him. I thought he was a good as Sincy.
