Mid - Table Obscurity

BJM

Recommended Posts

Vaious references on this site to "Mid -Table Obscurity" being acceptable this season. After 7 straight defeats lets us hope the management /team can at least achieve this.

References also made to the "promotion push" next season? Who/what is going to change to make this possible?

At least CK would appear to have been allowed the luxury of two seasons to produce a team. Time to build was certainly something denied to the last manager.

Mid table mediocrity for this season really excites me-and is great after the troubled times of the last three seasons.

Like many-i am hoping for a real promotion push next seas0n-and not the play-offs -but to win the league outright.

That given-it takes time to grow/evolve a team-and CK may need three seasons to do that.

In the unlikely event that we had got promoted this season-i would have expected us to get relegated again next-achieving nothing-and whilst we all see things differently-slow steady growth is best imo.

Above all- the off pitch issues will hopefully be resolved over the next 8 months and thus thre infrastructure is better still to support the club at bss level

I don't know what the previous manager is doing now.

I do know he was sacked in March last year with his team in 13th place in the league. The club said " the decision was based solely on the clubs results"

Twelve months on the club are in mid table and have lost the last 7 games in a row!

Perhaps the club policy has changed this year and results are not important.

I see mention made that perhaps CK needs 3 seasons to produce a team. Will this become 4 if next season again ends in "mid table obscurity".

We have also won 5 games in a row this season BJM which is the first time in years.

I suggest at one of the games you go up to Cliff Egan and ask him what the club policy is as he is very approachable.

Most people at start of season were saying we would love a mid table finish-looks like thsts on the cards-so whats changed.

Most in the prediction league said mid table-so it seems CK is achieving what is expected.

You 'grow a side over a few seasons

(CK did not win the DML in 2002 or whenever it was in his first season )

Most important thing this year was and is surely to stabilise the ship and finally get this ground under way-it is inevitably a distraction .

I think we all got seduced by the 5 wins on the trot - myself ashamedly included -but as someone pointed out in another post-Kwesi's goals were really disguising the fundamentals that we are average.

Nothing wrong with average this season.
