No disrespect Chubbster, but being as CANV, Laz and pabird were all old enough to work/vote/whatever during Thatcher's reign, I think they are probably better equipped to make a judgement on the lady.

Just because we weren't old enough to vote doesn't mean that we weren't affected by her regine, the seeds she and the tories sowed are still affecting this country now!

chubs.. your education is mainly a product of new labour.. the good thing about thatcher was that you were either on board the program or you hated her.. look at the miners strike, a quality bust up..then look at blair [****!!****] his pants in the petrol dispute and wheel out doctors crying that eveyone in hospital would die in 48 hours.. mm yes nothing like the blitz spirit there then.. thatcher toughed it out the hard way.. different gravy really........

mind you only sargill was stupid enough to start a miners strike in the summer..

It's become very fashionable for the current generation of students to dislike Thatcher. In 20 years times, people will realise just what a fking great PM she was.

Correct CZ but stranger than fiction foreign governments and foreign peoples understood Maggie and she became a far more popular figure abroad than at home.

by the time the pinkies realised that standing on your own two feet and making plenty of money was o!k but it determined you had to work and work very hard to gain the rewards she made possible, they of course decided that was not for them, much better the state take on board "your" responsibilities with those prepared to work that bit harder footing the bill

Without a doubt people prepared to go the extra yard had their hardest times under Callahan and Brown with 16/17% interest rates and inflation that finally topped out circa 25%

The pinks should realise it was Maggie who arrested that situation and put this country back on its feet

yup.. the pinkos love to spend cash on worthwhile causes but then fail to realise that its the poeple who make the money that generate it for the govmnt arseholes to waste.. you can spend 50 per cent of the nations income via the govmnt and have growth at 2 per cent (if your lucky) or bite the bullet and spend 30 per cent via the govmnt and have growth at 5.. in ten years see how your countrys doing ..

30 per cent of shitloads is a far better invesment than 50 per cent of fk all..

until these spoons realise the generation of wealth is where a higher standard of living for everyone comes from we will be performing as a country at half of what we could achieve

maybe thats what he will do 6 months before the election but somehow i doubt it.. im more of a ken clarke fan but i cant agree with him on europe
