Ash Utd v Badshot Lea

Yes we do - Jay came back to the club on Saturday (and scored twice) after having stopped playing around September time. Liam has been on dual registration with Walton Casuals, but has been back with us for the last three games.

Hopefully.

I know he stopped enjoying football which was why he stopped, but he is a Valley boy through and through and wanted to try and help us out of the hole we are in.

Just having him about on Saturday gave the lads a big lift.

Sorry to be a blunt, but L.Holden looked out of sorts, perhaps playing a different style at Casuals ,the other brother overweight and laboured the whole 90mins,never had the turn of pace to get on anything, clearly beaten to the ball by the C&H center halves, lack of pace evident.I cant quote on the Badshot performance but judging on last night , definitely not the answer to your survival chances, seems more of a case of nothing else available on the bench, though Briggers you have quoted you were at full strength.

ash 1-1 badshot lea

ash levelled with 30 secs to go. Poor game!!

Irrespective of the attenadance AUpostie, JJ sumed up the game with 2 teams set middle table avoid of promotion and relegation, means they have nothing to play for and by the sound of things it was exactly that !

I think that most people in the ground would agree with JJ that this was not the best of games but 151 people turned up knowing that both teams would be going for a win due to the reasons stated earlier in this thread.

I would have thought by now that you would know that nothing is 100% certain in football and this is what makes it an interesting game. 2 teams both going for a win does not always produce a good game of football and 2 struggling teams looking for the points does not either, as in the game that you watched.

I tend to agree with Smudge on his statement:-

‘ Nice Guy, the only person on here who brings up the 'Old chesnut of nothing to play for' is yourself.Do you really think that Players, train and commit themselves often,to leaving work early.DO NOT TRY.YOU ARE DELUDED.’

I can only imagine that maybe you are judging others on yourself. Did you play for a team that only put the effort in until they had enough points to avoid relegation and then coast for the rest of the season?
