As local derbies go this will again be a very hard fought & normally very entertaining games with plenty of goals, tackles, bookings & the odd sending off as well

Also tonight, where I am off too, is the basement battle between the bottom two clubs Chessington & Hook and Mole Valley - a 6 pointer as they say !

 

Could get fiesty, and with the return of the Holden brothers, Mole Valley could just get out of the mire they have been in all season, so all to play for......Sorry AUpostie but your game theres nothing to play for this basement game has all to play for.

Looking forward to this one, after Saturday we have hopefully turned the corner - although i am slightly sick of saying that this season - always seems to be one step forward followed up by two back. Fingers crossed we don't do what we normally do after a good win, and turn in a shocker.

 

Going to miss the start due to the eldest's parents evening, but hopeful of an 8pm arrival (so if recent midweek games are anything to go by, we will be 2 down by the time i get there).

With C&H pulling out of the 1st game due to a bone dry waterlogged pitch(clever move),I guess with the influx of new faces and a win over Windsor,they will be the favourites going into this game,especially with whats at stake,a win and they will surely put MVSCR in Div 1.....................thats why its worth the watch!!

It does seem that every time we have done well (Windsor away, Badshot Lea away spring to mind), we have followed it up with complete and utter dross.

 

Hopefully we will change that tonight - if not we can start planning for Westfield, Farleigh etc next season

a very even & tight affair.......not many chances being made

 

former ash player Ross Millard rifled home a loose ball with 15 to go then Liam Pearson came off the bench to score Ash's equaliser with almost the last kick off the game...nice crowd though for a nothing game as someone put on earlier.....151

Valley should of been 2 up at least in the 1st half.Poor finishing.

Pretty much the same story the 2nd half.C&H never really created a decent chance,bar one of the line.MVSCR created far more.TBH the pitch really didnt favour either team,both tried to play footy,but from the stand the pitch looked cut up.Awful.Fair play to your boys Briggers they wanted it more and on chances created desreved it.PLenty of MVSCR fans there and celebrated as if they are safe,alas a long way from the truth,but good luck!! C&H have a couple of more games in hand.Well worth the entrance fee alone!!! At least your boys are giving a go........

In my opinion, 2 poor teams not helped by a awful pitch, actually felt sorry for the players. Nevertheless, a much needed and good win for MV makes the basement battle even more interesting. If MV avoid relegation, its got to be one of the greatset escapes in CCL history !!!

 

In addition, 3 much needed points for E&E who were gradually getting sucked into the relegation zone.

Last night results make the basement battle even more interesting. In my opinion, its any 3 from E&E downwards, Dorking, Colliers Wood, Banstead, Farnham, Chess & Hook and Mole Valley are still not out of the quagmire yet. So its all to play for which makes it a very interesting last dozen or so games...... looking forward to seeing these battles, but hope they are better than last nights game I witnessed at Chessy !

Yep I tend to agree with you Nice Guy. Prob going to watch one of them next Sat so will be interesting to see how they stand up to the pressure.

 

Of course though we still need 3 teams with the grade to finish in the top 3 of Div 1.

Very happy with the result last night - the game did lack quality, but the effort was there from both sides.

 

We did miss a few chances, and i cannot recall our keeper having a save to make. Thought we got away with one late on, when one of the Chessington lads was felled in the area, but i guess we haven't had to many breaks this season, so i will take it.

 

SJ - as for celebrating as though we were safe, i think the general consensus was that if we had lost last night it would have definitely been all over, so there was probably a great deal of relief in there (i had by that time wandered to the other side of the crowd, so was not in amongst them) - added to the fact it was the first time we have had back to back wins and back to back clean sheets this season and there was a lot to be happy about.

 

We will battle on until the end, just wish we could have show this spirit earlier in the season.

 

NG/Smudge - as for players missing, our skipper was on the bench, but other than that we had pretty much a full squad to pick from
