Anyone at Windsor game today heard the ref and linesman had a shocker

Windsor 2 Croydon 0

Even first half, both sides playing decent football without really testing the keepers. Then just on half-time came the turning point in the game. I can't really comment too much as I saw as much of the incident as the referee did i.e missed it completely! A Windsor attack was cleared, and as the play moved upfield, the referee was eventually alerted to the lino flagging away. And after a lot of thought / discussions / indecisveness, the referee eventually sent off our centre half Jason Thompson, I gather for showing too much agression in picking a Windsor player up off the ground! I'm sure those who did see the incident will elaborate. Francis Ameyaw made a fine save from the resultant penalty, but with 11 against 10, Windsor took control of the second half and ran out comfortable winners.

Guernsey v South Kilburn

MATCH REPORT:

Guernsey got off to the dream start they were looking for when after only 34 seconds of the game Ross Allen broke down the left wing, lost his marker and swung over a deep cross to Glyn Dyer who beat the visiting keeper and put the Green Lions 1-0 ahead.

Despite lots of possession and shots both on target and off, Guernsey were unable to increase the score before half time.

Both teams had shots cleared off the line and Dom Heaume had hit the post in the 41st minute.

South Kilburn and the travelling officials were given a standing ovation by the crowd at half time in recognition of their efforts in getting to the island and ensuring the game was played today.

HALF-TIME STATS: Free-kicks GFC - 13, SK - 4, Shots on target GFC 5, SK - 2, Shots off target GFC - 6, SK - 2, Corners GFC - 3, SK - 2.

Guernsey and the crowd were stunned shortly after half-time when Luke Mason equalised for South Kilburn after 48 minutes, the ball breaking for him in the penalty area and he gave de Garis little chance with his sweetly struck shot on goal.

South Kilburn were given a huge lift by the equaliser and their physical approach constantly broke down the Guernsey attack in the second half. The Green Lions went on the attack in pursuit of regaining the lead but South Kilburn were quite happy to concede free-kicks whenever they were unable to gain possession.

The game really looked as though it was going to end in a draw, but an inspired Guernsey substitution in the 86th minute when Chris Mauger came on for Simon Geall and, after only one minute he smacked the ball into the back of South Kilburn net in a scramble in the penalty area and gave Guernsey a 2-1 lead.

A further chance fell to Guernsey in the 90th minute with a free-kick on the edge of the box which was deflected for a corner.

Not one of Guernsey's better performances on the day and a real relief for the home fans to see their team get three points out of this game.

South Kilburn, who were 20-1 to win this game with the local bookie, will be extremely disappointed to come away without a point.

2ND HALF STATS:Free-kicks GFC - 11, SK - 6, Shots on target GFC 4, SK - 1, Shots off target GFC - 3, SK - 1, Corners GFC - 5, SK - 2.

Guernsey man of the match - Glyn Dyer

Crowd - 801

Well who would have thunked that?

Dorking on long losing run v 3rd placed egbam.

30 minutes of egham possession without threatening

Bit of even play and the flukiest rik o'shea goal saw chicks with the half time advantage

A new look chicks side without teletubbies competed all over the park. Defended. From the front. Few u18s on park and egham keeper pulled off a few to keep them in it.

Egham scored in last ten to set up a good quality finish

Ref and linos good throughout.

Strange post match atmosphere. Most of our players etc gone by 6

Thanks to all egham fans players etc who were friendly and stayed despite the defeat

Blimey Jeff ! So stunning you had to say it twice !

Sorry I didn't make it to the hallowed turf, but I decided that due to a sudden calling into hospital tomorrow afternoon for a minor eye operation, a day at home relaxing would be more beneficial.

Maybe, just maybe, I should stay at home more often !

Worcester park 4-3 wars. This was always going to be a potential bannana skin and it proved to be,within the first 5 mins park went 1 up with a very well taken goal from a throw in that was clearly given the wrong way which seemed to be a regular thing that occurred yesterday.park dominated the first half going down the hill and we had to fight hard to keep it at 1.we did have a couple of chances first half were we caught w.park on counter and had a couple of one on ones saved.we equalised through a quick break down the left side were jospeph twisted and turnt the full back then crossed to penfold who put it away 1-1 ht second half started with w park coming at us again with them controlling the game they then went infront from another well taken goal just inside the area then they soon got a third with a free kick that was spilled into the feet of the park player 3-1.wars kept on trying to get back in the game with penfold hitting the post but yet again park got another when a mix up at the back allowed them to get in and round dilley 4-1 game over ? We did rally and the introduction of dias caused problems with him winning a pen which jospeh converted 4-2 then Richie White was sent off for anoff the ball incident wars got another back when Jordan Martin scrambled one in.4-3 ft a well deserved win for Worcester park a very good side and they should be higher up te table fair play.on a negative one of the linesmans yesterday called one of our players a nonce when he questioned a decision is this acceptable as off a football field I'm sure that would resulted in a good hiding

very disappointing from us. Game of few chances. Sports went down to 10 men after 26 minutes but dug in and we just couldnt break them down. Aside from set pieces neither side created much and the goal came 18 min from time following an error. Sports very organised and wanted the game more than we did. Weve lost our spark and need it back soon. Good luck to Sports who will do well in the prem next season with their experience

Good to see you again mate missed my drink though ;)

Was scrappy few chances ref was inconsistent with desicsions wrong ie two of yours kicking ball away rules state yellow nothing given one of ours does an yellow they do themselves no favours

Good away win for us hard fought good luck westfield an superb facilities oh an it was me who swept our changing room ;)

I would be interested to know what the score was when the players kicked the ball away Newby ? Because then I can refer it all from another thread to Epsom Ed re positions referees are in :)

BTW I agree with you !!

Thanks newby. question for Epsom Ed then. What do you think of that ? Ref applied common sense in not booking at nil nil but did for a player when his team were leading. Yet the ref (rightly so IMO) gets grief for exactly what you were suggesting he should do.

My view of the game, albeit limited in the first half, was one where both teams tried to play football in an honest manner. Not a bad challenge all game long but plenty of effort and commitment. We have had this referee before and he is one of the poorest we have had. We must have had him at least 3 times and in those games he has managed to upset and infuriate everyone. At least he is consistent.

Why it took so long for the referee to deal with the penalty incident is beyond me. After speaking to the Asst on the main stand side, he took an absolute age to actually do anything. Frustrations from both sides could so easily have boiled over especially as there were 10 or so players around the "D" who seemed to be having quite an interesting debate.

Defensively, this is as well as we hahve played for a very long time. I thought we looked extremely solid at the back and never stretched at any time. If I missed something I am sure that this will be picked up.

To be fair to the ref, after chatting with the Lino he appeared to be explaining his decision to the various parties and then dealing with the fall out with a certain amount of diplomacy which, in the somewhat odd circumstances, was probably the right thing to do.

Still took a bleedin' age though!

Thats two i owe you then ! :D

Yeah ref wasnt the best for both sides- some bizzare decesions.

Thought G Bamford and Vidal for you were different class on the day

Cheers NLN, it was a very tough game!

It was a relief to hear that full time whistle!

But very impressed with the set up down there, i think so was newby. He actually cleaned up after :engel:
