The Colts drew 3 3 with Thurrock this morning at a bright but rather windy Fleet ground next to the Thurrock Hotel.

Fleet took the lead when a free kick given against us, rather harshly in my view, was not covered and a shot in the far corner beat our keeper.

To be honest, at this stage our lads looked second best, but we came into the game and levelled through Lance McDowell, who converted after the ball came back from the post.

The second half came to life when after a successsion of corners and clearances off the line by our hosts, the ball struck their defender's hand on the goalline,, a penalty, duly converted by Terry Everett and their defender sent off, unjustly in my view as it was accidental.

Fleet equalised with a sucker punch and then three minutes from time Lance McDowell scored his second from close in after a good move and centre from Ket on the right.

Unfortunately, shut up shop we didn't and Fleet once more equalised with our defence looking for offside.

A good morning's footie then, I always enjoy watching the kids, and a point for Johnny's boys, minus some injured players and of course the new "Wee Man".
