right you lot....

Uncle Urchin

Recommended Posts

not to bad a hangover this morning and a few thoughts are clear enough for publication...

firstly...the best performance ever from an Urchin team that I've been involved in...if any of us had any doubts about gorgeous george's plans....we saw yesterday what he's been doing...

it could have been 10....

the carshalton manager told me we were by far the best team he'd come up against this season and also that our pitch was the best in the league...

the ref and linos were excellent...not even a slagging from georgie...

brilliant stuff....

lockie...class above and what a goal...well done adam..I've slated him in the past but yesterday he proved that quality always comes out...

more brilliant stuff...

whos next...well I want canvey or the daggers at the stadium...we'll do 'em both in if we play like we did yesterday....

what a good day...great crowd...noisy and lively....the whole place was buzzing and alive with FA cup fever....even the england game went mostly unoticed as the bar was full of discussion about our game...

westie for england...???

did you see that tart beckham slip on the penalty...christ..I could do that for a hundred grand a week...tossa...

who said that the FA cup is not important anymore...

f****n' superb....

Sir George....???....

Yep, excellent performance yesterday. Lockie was a lot better today. His passing and movement were second to none. Dougie also looked better today. Hopefully this is the start of more to come from him. I would personally rather an easier team in the next round to help ensure we reach the 1st round proper. Now that would be an achievment. How about Hornchurch vs Leyton Orient live from the stadium on the beeb? They do still feature a first round proper game on the sunday don't they?

Yeah should do, although SKY still cover the FA Cup and I think they show two matches per round. There's also the Match of the Day highlights on a Saturday night so even if you don't get picked for live coverage you'll still see the goal action on the Beeb.

Cheers. Just seeing Hornchurch on TV in some capacity this FA cup would be great. Team Bath got loads of coverage last year and we're much more interesting than they are! I remember teo years ago when Canvey were featured. Julian Dicks was playing for them at the time.

is there any mugs left in the next round...

if we drew the Daggers it could well end up on the box...sky have said that they will cover ryman..unibond and doc martin teams in the earlier stages of the FA cup....we'll see......

I understand where your coming from about the draw....but I like the big teams at the stadium...its a chance to compare ourselves against them....its sometimes easy to say that a team that we have beaten are not very good...well carshalton are top of the premier league after 14 games...hardly a fluke and yet we slaughtered 'em...

how good are we....thats the interesting question...

urchins on the box....?

christ that would p**s a few people orf...

not arf...he he he...

Georgie having a lash at the lino on telly.....

on second thoughts....

Yeah I think for that reason (Georgie) the game will have to be censored or have a late showing!

We are doing ever so well at the moment. I just hope that when we play Carshalton next week the players realise that it could be an entirely different game. Carshalton will out for revenge but if we show the same attitude as yesterday and hit em from the off, there will be little to worry about. Nice to see Vinny starting to find the net again. He so deserves it.

[color:"blue"]Well, I did mention in reply to a post from SahraToast who was questioning Georgie Borgs tacticals etc.

That GB was without doubt was the best manager for taking the club forward and she should give him time.

Some might not like his style and call him contravertial but he's the dogs [/color]

its the whole issue jimbo....Gary heading the show as chairman...Brian looking after the commercial issues....'Gorgeous' full time with full time players....John with the young uns and what about that pitch....brilliant and we've got John to thank for that...(Andy as well)...and lets not forget that this full time lark is unique at our level...unchartered territory and beginning to pay dividends methinks.....

yeah the league game against carshalton will be a completely different ballgame but lets enjoy yesterday....we deserve it...

all of us....

Certainly the best Urchins performance that I've ever seen, and that goes back only 8/9 years.

John Martin my MOM, but I could run through the team with praises galore, special mention for Lockie, has come back into contention and yes, he's a class act, everyone playing for their place helps as well.

Good team spirit, and you're right England took second place in the bar, everyone talking about our lads.

Mention for Carshalton, nice bunch, took defeat very well.

The magic of the cup!

agree there maxie...the carshalton boys were gonna get straight on the coach and shoot off but we talked 'em into coming in for the grub...

they were pleased they did as there was no gloating.....great bunch of lads...I spoke to their boy who was sent off ...(the urchinettes loved him...say we've gotta sign him..!!)...he was a right nice kid...knew he had to go...said that jonny was running him riot and he just had to take him out....

honest comment....thats football...

Listening to George Borg being interviewed on BBC Essex - both he and Jeff King (Canvey) would like the weakest team at home in the next round.

Any of the bigger conference clubs would be good at home, but no team is unbeatable.
