ooo 2 last nioght for Ed to get his teeth into. At Aldershot the keeper bought a Shots player down for a penalty but didnt even get a card. Rob Green was sent off though for West Ham though.

I felt the ref was correct at Aldershot as the ball was heading towards the corner flag. Much the same as Green who I felt shouldn't have been sent off. All about opinons though :)

Sorry to be controversial here but I have just witnessed one of the all time worst ever refereeing performances in thirty years of watching live games.

People who know me, know that I will tell it as it is and when our boys are poor I will say so, but we have been totally robbed today by a referee (and two assistants that were of little help) who made more obvious wrong decisions than I have maybe ever seen.

After dominating but in fairness not really doing much with the possession, we got caught right on half time when a Horley player broke through the middle (he was offside according to a few people on the sidelines) and was brought down when our keeper made a genuine effort to reach the ball. On a wet and windy day and with the Horley player going at speed the referee chose to send our keeper off.

As far as I was aware you have to deliberately prevent a goal scoring opportunity and whilst he prevented one and rightly conceded the penalty, he didn't do it deliberately. Shocking decision but he missed at least three corners that were very clear yet he gave them as goal kicks. He missed a nasty leg breaker from one of our players who should have had a yellow card, then refused to even speak to a Horley player who belted the ball forty yards away after being pulled up for offside. Throw in another three or four bizarre decisions where he awarded free kicks to one side or another when both teams were already walking in the opposite direction and you get a referee who was completely out of his depth. As one of our supporters said today, he would sit the wrong way round on a toilet.

He was really lucky that the players didn't decide to take matters into their own hands, but Epsom and Horley deserve credit for keeping their heads and sticking to the game.

In summary we only scored after 93 minutes but Horley were only good for a ten minute spell just after half time and we were totally robbed having played most of the football. If Kyle Hough moves up a level as he surely must do shortly, Horley will struggle next year. We've really missed him.

Kyle did play in the Rymans South and devcided to go back to the CCL...I wonder why ?

Chessington & Hook 2-1 Windsor

Great win for C&H in awful conditions, very windy and wet with the rain becoming torrential in the second half. I did begin to wonder if we might be in trouble if it continued to lash down. Not particularly impressed with Windsor although they had plenty of chances. C&H didn't look like a struggling side and took the lead after about 30 minutes. Windsor equalised after the break and then exerted some pressure as you'd expect, but were caught offside more often than not. C&H won it in the last minute.

On that showing and with Guildford's win, I don't think there's much doubt as to where the title is heading this season.

Cue NG.....

Yep thats it TRS, the seasons race for the champions ''appears'' to be over a little later than usual, towards the end of February.

Now to concentrate of the basement battles for their own respective clubs lives, these games are frantic and exciting to watch, the players endeavour to avoid relegation is there for all to see as experienced last season. MV seemed doomed after last nights 2-0 defeat to Sandhurst, I wonder if MV had any strikers playing....lol !!!

So who will the other 2 clubs be................we will see !

Now I shall pick the clubs out of the hat for the ''Play-Off Cup''......... !!!!!

It may well be his opinion that counts, but it doesn't stop me thinking it was a poor decision. That's my opinion. Their player had gone a bit wide with the ball too, which I accept you wouldn't have been aware of.

However, my response above was relating to the fact that 95% of the time a goalkeeper who makes a foul IS denying a goal scoring opportunity, so 95% of them should be sent off. That obviously doesn't happen. However, from reading your post then ultimately it is not worth him bothering to stop the player at all. In fact he is more likely to benefit by doing nothing.

Surely that means the law is wrong.

Why should there be such a harsh penalty for a keeper if the referee genuinely feels that he made an effort to get the ball but just missed? As I said earlier this is also compounded by the one match suspension. You get a penalty, a likely goal as a result, a man advantage and a player missing his next game too. You think that's fair reward for a foul, do you?

As I also said though, this was one of over a dozen decisions that were either rank bad or just confusing to both sets of players. He had a shocker and his actions killed the game completely for two teams that were having a very sporting and even contest at the time.

Ed did E&E lose by any chance..............lol ?

By the way, with that sending off, make sure someone does the admin correctly and pay the fine, otherwise you know what will happen...!

Or could it be Ed that E&E are forever dropping near that relegation zone that worries you ?

Yes it was a penalty, yes it was a sending off, no it was not offside as he ran through with the ball. Yes the referee was poor he gave many strange things for both sides.Have been all through the vidoe and found two chance apart from the goal which our keeper Ian Chatfield had to save. I could have put up a lot of chances for Horley to say you had all the play is a bit one sided. I thought in the conditions it was a great credit to both side to try and play football.

Just a question for you why do your players play in different numbers than on the team sheet having read out the names and put the team sheet up was suprised to see sub numbers at the start?

Mmmnnn seems like an admin problem there Cart..........lol !!!

I shall respond on this one occasion, seeing as you continue to spout all sorts of inaccurate crap on here and my silence will be interpreted (only by you of course) as an admission of guilt in your warped, retarded world.

Firstly, as I said earlier I tell it as it is and when our guys are poor I will say so. No sugar coating here. It has nothing to do with whether we won or lost, so you are barking up the wrong tree (as usual) here. Check all my other reports on our website and you will see that, but you probably won't bother as you never normally let the facts get in the way of the real story.

I played at a far higher level than this in my chosen sport and learned pretty quickly that if you learn lessons while you are winning, you will have to learn less of them the hard way. As a result I am sometimes over critical rather than under, but you won't get any different from me whatever the result.

As for admin, not my area. Therefore no comment. Make up your own mind, you usually do.

Relegation zone? Idiot. Just because we are moved down a few places doesn't mean we are suddenly worse than those who are now above us. We are still aware that ninth place is an achievable option and that is the target. We are inconsistent this year but nowhere near bad enough, regularly enough to go down.

If however we go down, which may happen in the future, then it happens. Unlike you, I recognise a word called loyalty and you just move on and try to bounce back. You of course would just leave and annoy someone else.

To answer HTFC's query, Kyle moved to Walton Casuals for about 6 weeks where he just didn't seem to fit, and returned to us soon after. I think their Manager departed shortly afterwards too so all things considered it wasn't a fair platform to judge him, although of course certain idiots will. As you are aware having watched him for a season, he is a really good player and is still very young.

He was also offside. At least this is what I was told by a few people when I got around to that side of the ground. That's not the refs fault I accept, although in fairness had the assistant raised the flag he wouldn't have seen it. Play went on quite a few times before that sort of thing was finally drawn to his attention.

I never said we had 80 minutes of the game, I said we had more of the ball for that time. Not all of the ball, more of it.

You had ten minutes where we were struggling but a substitution helped and I don't recall a single decent chance for you against our ten men after the third goal. You also created nothing of note in the first half apart from a speculative volley from distance and an early deep cross that was headed away.

I accept that football is a game of opinion but without doubt you will see a lot more keepers walking if that rule is applied frequently. You deserved a penalty, but you were awarded three points too in that same moment.

You don't wanna believe everything people tell you Ed! ;0)
