Games in hand/postponements

It might, although a simple one point deduction would work better.

Following your idea would go against the main concept of a League, which is that every team playes every other team home and away.

Chalky Lane would only get about four fixtures a season otherwise :D

And as Windsor go there tomorrow, and heavy rain is forecast, is there any danger of this being called off?

I just think it's a really difficult one to set rules for, and I'm admitting that points deductions might require a few new rules too, but maybe the simplest way is to have some additional grading criteria for the pitch if there isn't one already, and I'm guessing that there isn't right now.

Tough to grade a pitch however I would imagine. Nearly all look great after a bit of tlc in the sunshine of pre season, some look terrible end of season but won't have had a postponement and others we know are prone to numerous postponements. What would the criteria be and how would you test it? Very tough one to manage.

I agree SF but it works in cricket all the way down to the level my club play it. Pitch is marked by both teams and umpires and if you are below a cetain standard then you can get relegated.

So both teams and referees mark pitches and you also get marked for the number of games called off due to the weather, rain mostly.

Some pitches are notoriously poor, some always suffer with a bit of rain and some are covered in goose poo,at this level every club does the best they can(you hope) but all players at every club no what grounds/pitches they like play and the ones they don't.

Those that make little or no effort should be marked down,I drive past hanworth villa and they put covers over the 6 yard box to try and protect it,Ian is on wembleys pitch all week.I won't comment on other pitches as I don't want to offend.

I think it needs a shake up.
