FA Cup - Hornchurch 5 Carshalton Athletic 0

This was an awesome performance and we made a side currently sitting at the top of the Ryman League look very ordinary.

We took the lead after only 6 minutes after Andy Douglas slotted home after running on to a flicked on header from Vinnie John. A John header spun wide in the 13th minute but we went further ahead 4 minutes later when Andy Douglas got in the way of a John goalbound header, turned and had his shot blocked into the path of John Martin who found the net from 6 yards. If that wasn't bad enough for the visitors they went down to ten men two minutes later when Mark Costello was shown a red card after a wild challenge on John Keeling. Soon after Andy Douglas had a header cleared off the line, John narrowly missed with a header and John Keeling shot just wide from 18 yards. With 15 minutes to go to the interval Douglas broke down the right, centred for John Keeling whose parried shot was put away by John. Carshalton's Ali Russell came close to pulling a goal back for the visitors when his header from a corner had to be kicked off the line by Danny Kerrigan.

In the second half we carried on from where we left off. Keeling shot wide when well placed after 5 minutes but three minutes later we were 4-0 up. A Mark Graham cross from the right went to the far post for John. John's shot was blocked and John Martin followed up to volley home from 18 yards. Daniel Gay found himself with something to do with 15 minutes left when he had to stretch to save from Des Boating whose body language was of a man who had just missed possibly their last chance back into the game. Two minutes later a great run from Jude Sterling from half-way ended with a shot from just inside the penalty area which was deflected wide, but with minutes to go we made it 5-0 when Adam Locke scored with a superb chip over Carshalton keeper Stuart Searle from 20 yards.

Line-up:- Gay, Sterling, Kerrigan, Adedeji (Southon 81), West, Locke, Keeling, J Martin, John, Douglas (Maynard 72), Graham. Subs not used:- A Martin, Rowland, Collier (GK)
