Just to reiterate what NLN has already said, the whole package is very well organised and a credit to the club and island as a whole! I don't think there is anything that they hadn't got covered and are a great team on and off the pitch.

Despite the result I felt we gave Guernsey a very good game and in the end it came down to which side was more clinical with their finishing. As HKP said it was nice to see both our goals applauded and recognised for the good goals which they were.

 

The only downside for me (if you can even call it that) was my 5.20am start when it was still -10c in Windsor, which made it a long day before the game has even started.......luckily I was on the bench so I could have a nap!

 

Some one said no different to when ur playing....

 

That's just my laid back playing style mate :rolleyes: !!

It was a good game, and Westfield gave account of themselves, probably should have scored more or at least earlier in the game.

 

From a Guernsey point of view I felt they were a bit sloppy at times, in the first half they dominated with some decent attacking but gave the ball away a lot in the middle. This seemed partly down to the pitch not being as flat any more with plenty of balls bubbling up a bit off the ground. The GFC players seemed far too relaxed and didn't react quick enough to the this or the quick closing down from the Westfield players.

 

From a Westfield point of view, I felt they lacked a bit of confidence at times in the final third and while they had some good breaks and good positions in midfield they struggled to find the final ball. The first goal was the first time they seemed to get it right, which was a nicely worked goal. Not sure what the guy who had the pretty clean through chance early second half was doing either. I didn't have the best view as was in the queue for a cup of tea, but saw him get through, defender wasn't getting to him and he seemed to try to pass it across to an empty space without looking up when the shot was easily on (unless that was the shot).

 

Good game though and good to see a good come back like that in a game that was looking like it was pretty much over.

Gald you enjoyed it NLN. Are there any anti guernsey people left on here. Cant include Smudge cos he is anti every thing ;)

 

Kroons,I LOVE GUERNSEY,have done for a while now.Hopefully will meet the Guernsey Folk this coming Saturday,at 'the Field of Dreams'

yeah they did yellowboard...nothing wastes time more than the ball sitting in the back of the net! ;)

 

 

Notable mention to a fine performance from Roary the Lion as well. i reckon there was someone new donning the suit, don't know what they were on but he was certainly putting in more work than usual The 5 minute spell where he mimmicked the linesman from behind him was pretty amusing though will probably get some moans on here that he's interfering with play! Lino mockingly offered him the flag before pulling it back to which he got shown the red card by Roary and pointed towards the tunnel!

 

Pantomime stuff but was done very well.

Had to be someone else in there on Saturday. Coming out to his own music was also a good move. When he got someone to carry him in a wheelbarrow was also good. Only problem is you end up watching the bloody lion instead of the match at times!

As NLN has said, it was someone different as he was doing the usual bloke a favour as he was away. We had some good banter with him by the dugout and he was funny. He was leant against the dugout for about 5 mins as he was f*cked!!

 

Think you are right about watching him too much HKP!! I have to say for a crowd of over 1100, the atmosphere seemed very quiet indeed. Not sure if it always like that, but from the far side you couldn't hear any singing if it went on. The fact that it appears to be a very family orientated club and everyone was so nice may have something to do with it (by that, I mean it's not your typical football crowd of roudy blokes!).

Its very hard to get a Guernsey crowd to sing, but away from home the Green Army make their presence known! It is far too quiet at the Lane.. But this will change next season...
