The outcome of the work to clear the pitch and whether the match goes ahead will be on the official club website as soon as we know.

Nearly a half of the pitch has been cleared but we still need help to clear the remainder of the pitch. See www.margate-fc.com for more information.

well done everyone involved in making the effort.

Is it true though that 10 years ago-it would have been sufficient just to 'clear the lines '-alot easier-and that the pitch itself may well still have a covering of snow-which would be 'run off' during the game itself;and the game played on a underlying carpet of snow, which if not frozen-was fine to play on.

I don't think the regulations have changed at all-so have we all just gone soft-and want 'perfect conditions'and not just the 'lines cleared'

In the TUFC days, we would clear the lines, and then use black liner instead of white. Did'nt help with results but we got games played.
