Dorking is the place to be in 2012,New Libraries,Olympic Cycling, what next?

Town centre location for the footbal club which is utterly brilliant, Japanese lager on tap in the clubhouse, brilliant playground next to the ground so Smudge and Nice Guy can play with each other, easy access to the M25, shall I go on?

Us Windsor folk use the term "old chap" as one of mild endearment.

I guess the equivalent in less refined circles might be "me old mucker".

Does that help at all?

B)

Endearment !!!

Not used to that ;)

Certainly some nice pubs in Dorking and I would recommend the Spotted Cow (South Street - on one way system) and Surrey Yeoman (High Street not far from ground).

Oh and Krooner, my boy Nathan has been doing the maths like that for about 9 months now and he's not yet 4. He has known all his times tables for quite some time now. It probably helps that his old man's a statto!

I think many of the problems associated with poor literacy and numeracy starts in the home. For too long, the Playstation and X-Box has become some sort of surrogate baby sitter. Throw in the multitude of technical gadgets and gizmos available, txt spk hs crpt in2 our language.

Then we have the delights of Childline and the litigious society we now live in.

The lack of discipline in the home and at school, caused by the political situation of the 1980s where there was a huge reaction from Local Authorities etc to counter the excesses of the Thatcher Government.

is it any wonder things are getting so bad?

,,,,,,,,,,, AND, as TRS and TSF can testify, we have a huge C0CK on the Deepdene roundabout on the entry to the town from the A.24/A.25. Something to do with an ex-Tory Councillor on the M.V.D.C. Enough Said ??

What more could you want ?

You have to speak proper english like what i does...

I have to agree with WFC Prog Editor with regards to the Xbox and PS3. I use to read loads when I was younger 3 books a week now I have a PS3 I am lucky if I read 3 books a year. There are educational games for the machines but would you prefer doing times tables or causing carnage on aliens from the planet Zorg...

With regards to Maths Smudge. I would just like you to know that Windsor supporters including myself, WFC Prog Editor and Rother had nothing to do with the Maths at WEFC. Mind you if we had been WEFC might still have been around today....

Oh By The Way. My spelling, grammer and punctuation are not always great even though I was brought up well and did well at school. As long as people get the gist of what you are saying on a Forum why should it matter. It's hardly life or death or points knocked of an exam.

I work in Dorking and when the snow fell last week, someone decided to build a great big snowc0ck and balls up behind the cockerel.

Genius! Made me laugh though :D

That Krypton Factor was a long time ago now Kroonz. I still look quite young when they replay it!
