Saturday 11th February (Fixtures and Results)

Recommended Posts

Fair play to the SSML Management Committee with regards to the current climate and conditions.

In view of the severe weather conditions will you please circulate the following to all clubs and Management Committee ASAP.

"In the current extreme weather conditions, it has been agreed that clubs can postpone their matches this Saturday February 11, without the requirement for a pitch inspection by a referee if they feel there is no prospect of the match being played".

"Clubs should still advise the Match Officials, Opponents, the appropriate Fixture Secretary, Mick Ewen and Jim Bean".

"In these cases only no postponement form need be completed and forwarded".

P-P Welwyn Garden City v Stony Stratford Town

With our pitch still being under snow and frozen and with temperatures set to plummet again tonight we have no choice but to postpone tomorrow's SSML First Division fixture between Welwyn Garden City and Stony Stratford Town

This snow is playing havoc with my appointments.

Not much chance of my game going ahead this Saturday.

You're not scheduled to be on a SSML game tomorrow are you

We would love to tell the SSML the game is off particularly as we have had 3 inches of snow (now ice) on the pitch since last week, but the Referee (who seems to be one brick short of a full load) apparently thinks our mountain of supporters will sweep the snow away as the pitch (that is frozen solid and is currently at -6 temperatures) will be absolutely perfect!!!

I must remember to use our under soil heating next week

Why do you need the Referee to call the game off when the SSML has given permission to the Clubs to postpone matches?
