Ours is doubtful, pitch is still frozen and temps not likely to get above freezing for next couple of days and more snow forecast. Am already cutting programme down from 28 pages to a minimum of 8 pages to avoid unwanted printing costs.

Around welwyn, stevenage, hertford and letchworth it's stil very cold and pitches still got snow on them. Plus as Karen says there is more snow forecast so I can't see any games on round here....only if weather makes dramatic improvements

There will (probably) be at least one game on as Baldock Town play standon and puckeridge in the herts senior county league. Their pitch is 3G and they managed to play last weekend. Top of the league at present and I believe they've applied for promotion to SSML? I'll be heading over to Norton Road if there is another whiteout.

I took some nice pictures of Gosling Park and Herns Way this morning. They can be found at the cold end - http://thecoldend.blogspot.com/2012/02/cold-conditions-continue.html

Shows there is still alot of snow on the ground so I'd say there is little chance of games going ahead at the weekend but you never know???

From the Beds FA website

Having reviewed the weather forecast, Luton Borough Council have made a decision to call off all games for this weekend Saturday and Sunday 11th & 12th February 2012.

Conditions will certainly not improve; the pitches are frozen solid/ covered with snow and temperatures will remain freezing for the weekend.

Great pics Colders!

In the "good old days" of my youth they used to roll the snow, use blue paint on the lines and play with an orange ball. Heanor Town v Scunthorpe United Reserves on Boxing Day 1965, 1169 people paid to watch such a game in the Midland League. No-one got injured,

Aye Horace, the Good Old Days. I always remember one of my favourite players, Frank McLingtock, no matter what the weather he would always be there with his sleeves rolled up getting stuck in.

These days all these superstars have to have gloves, leggings and snoods at the slightest hint of the temp dropping below 10C

The actual grass appears good at mo as it's being well protected under the snow/ice.

Love to see a game on rolled snow like the good old days Horace...

My best memory of snow and footy is from early 90s when the then Enfield had a mid week replay in the FA Trophy in Merthyr Tydfil. we left before midday and the game started in great conditions only at half time for a snow blizzard to start. game went on and a wales v England snowball fight was had on the terraces. game called off in 81st minute and we had to push coach out of the town in the snow drifts. didn't get home until 5am next morning. great days!

Snoods were banned in the summer by FIFA.

Do keep up.

I think us "DEB's" did well against that lot. I also remember trying to get that coach down the lane of the ground where everyone had double parked. Typically we had about a 2 hour wait when it finally gave up the ghost just after we got back into England, whilst we waited for a replacement coach

Great Days indeed
