Except Guernsey is not a country!

That is true but we see ourselves as Guernsey first and British second.

I think you have to be here to understand that

We also have totally separate laws and government to the UK.

I tried to point a factor of this out in another thread, which, much to my surprise, has been removed.

(I am a moderator on a another site and if that post of mine had been reported to me, it would never have been removed. )

smudge, I see your lips moving but I hear BlahBlahBlah....

Do you need a bigger font?? Zero tolerance to drugs. Whether the story was true or not, it was a warning that our laws are much tougher than the UK and even a single roll up of cannabis will probably get you in jail.

Whatever..

Jermaine Beckford was playing at Wealdstone in the Ryman league until he was 23 before going to Leeds. Went from league one to the Premiership at 26.

I don't see that the crowds will go up all that much at GFC though probably will increase a bit for some games as the more competitive games should encourage people to come along more often. While it's great to see the team winning and scoring plenty of goals every week I think there are plenty of people that feel games are a bit too much of a formality to want to go to the games each week. With much closer games next season some of those people will be keen to come and see the games. I think the atmosphere and response from the crowd in the game we lost and the cup game against Ash United showed how much of a difference a more competitive game could make.

This weekend, 3 degree's and sunny apparently. Might get 1100.

I did note a lot of empty seats in the stand last week though that would have counted towards the attendance as they were all sold so I'd say there were probably 50 less than the reported figure. Saying that I have a seat but wasn't sat in it! Maybe other fools did the same.

So what laws are different? You've mentioned a punishment that might be more severe.

And I've been a mod in several places and I have to say that I'm not too suprised it's been hidden.

All are Laws are Independent of English Law, although many are based on UK Law.

Not sure about recent years, but in the past, I always knew Guernsey as an Island of Zero tolerance.

I think that they were the last part of the British Isles to abolish birching, APART from the Isle of Man.

I even remember a birching sentence being carried out there whilst I was on holiday, probably late 50's or early 60's.

Attendance (noun):

  • The action or state of being present at a place or event
  • The number of people present at a particular event

If someone pays for a ticket but doesn't go they're not in attendance. Likewise, if someone is in the ground but hasn't paid they are in attendance.

well VR i've never seen anyone counting people into the ground so am going to state that the Guerns don't understand the meaning of the word and take it as tickets sold.

By this there is a minimum attendance of 720 at each game based on the capacity of the stand.

Maybe when we have to add turnstiles to meet the ground standards there will be a more accurate count.

Clubs like arsenal also count season ticket holders as being in attendance even if they are not.
