ESL General Forum or ETFC ?

Recommended Posts

I have no problems posting here. It's not our fault that other clubs don't have many supporters and we outnumber all clubs in terms of people with net access. You can always get yourself a Waltham Abbey forum at NLUK and spend your time posting messages to yourself, or join in with the conversation here. It's a free country and the choice is yours.

THATS THE POINT! Due to the number of posts you DO make the general ESL stuff gets 'lost'.

I DO WANT A CHOICE which is being prevented.

I want to read general ESL stuff NOT page through loads of ETFC stuff which does not concern me.

If I want to read your drival MY CHOICE would be to go to YOUR bit of space but you don't have any unlike Waltham Abbey.

So back to the original point, WHY NOT ?

Isn't this the "ESL Forum" - seems more like a EFTC one to me.

Shouldn't you have your own bit of space?

Wandering through numerous inane messages to try and find something IMPORTANT is a real pain.

Neil,

He/she/it (!) does have a point. I know I get frustrated trying to decide what or what not to read. It is such a waste of time. Get your own forum back and make it members only I'm sure that is something that Ian can do.

Glad to see you are keeping well.

The reason ETFC have closed their own forum is simple......The club were sued recently, partly down to comments on the ETFC forum....Having said that, i do feel it's time for ETFC to restart its own forum.

But Abbeyman,i can't see your point about reading unwanted material.....By reading the headline tread,it's easy to work-out which threads refure to which club.....Just don't read anything with ETFC or Town in sudject headline(ie..about 95% of the subjects).

AbbeyMan is just going to have to put up with us being here. If I walked into a pub and didn't like the tone of conversation I would find another pub. AM would probably be at home at a Wetherspoons pub, I'd imagine as it's bit too noisy for him here. Maybe we disturbed him at the recent game with our noise. Bring the earplugs to the game at Brimmo next time!

There are Town fans here who have been on NLUK for two years and frequent many forums, not just the ESL one. I suggest again that if he has a problem with reading posts refering to ETFC, he organises his own one. I'm surprised that Derek hasn't done it already, actually. Then we can get back to our discussions with the Eton Manor, Basildon, Romford, Barkingside and Ilford supporters who DON'T have a problem with the forum.

It's not a question of getting it back, Derek. It's not even a question of getting Ian to get it back as I could do that now if the club said yes. I prefer the ESL forum now and I would imagine that the majority of Towners do as well. Like it or not, we are on this forum to stay. Maybe us Towners ought to be made to post on one day a week, between 6 and 8pm, but not when AM might be around as that might confuse him as he doesn't seem to know how to use the scroll bar. Sheesh!

Hi Neil,

Well this is quite an interesting thread! I can understand what both you and AM are saying but it appears to me you're not actually on the same wave length.

If I'm reading it correctly, all AM is saying is that ETFC should have their own thread, he has no problems with posts to other clubs, just the ones that are specific to you guys as there are loads. I agree whole heartedly. :-) If it is specific to you then you should have your own area. If talking to other clubs then it makes sense to keep it general otherwise you have the other problem of going through umpteen forums to find anything interesting.

LS does also have a point though. IF you do get promoted, you can't carry on using the general ESL one can you?

PS. There is a forum for Waltham Abbey - not set up by me I hasten to add - just look on the ESL opening page....

always thought it was a free country and we could post where ever we wanted to.

If David Blaine can sit in a box I'm sure we can post here

anyway post people know which threads are the ETFC one's; there the ones with all the replies; except Mr Happy's postings, as he is just board and makes things up !!
