Price Of A Cuppa Survey

Recommended Posts

It would appear that Karen, who painstakingly compiled the survey, has far too much time on her hands however it's interesting that it costs an extortionate £8.80 'all in' to go to watch a game at Kentish Town in Division 1 compared to a bargain basement £3.50 at New Bradwell St Peter:

Really, can I ask who from the Club sent the requested information to Karen then:

Attached are the results of a survey which Karen Browne, Sec of Welwyn Garden City, has recently conducted amongst all SSMFL clubs as to the cost of a day out at any of our games. Sadly a number of clubs didn’t have the decency to reply –they are shown in red on the attached Results sheet – but certainly there are some interesting variations. Below are some tongue-in-cheek findings.

Premier Division: Admission charges are fairly standard, either £5 or £6, with the exception of Aylesbury Utd who charge £7. If you include refreshments and a programme, it will cost you over a tenner at Hertford, St. Margaretsbury and Royston, whereas it’s only just over £7.00 at AFC Dunstable and Stotfold. Mind you, you might get hungry at Creasey Park!

Division One: Not surprisingly the variations are greater here. Admission prices vary from Free to £5.00. The cheapest day out is at New Bradwell, where the admission is free and a cuppa is only 50p, whereas it’s nearly £9.00 to go to Kentish Town. I’m not sure what they put in the tea at Chesham, but I reckon it should be brandy for the price!

Division Two: The smallest sample of the three Divisions, but admission is free at almost all grounds apart from Winslow and Risborough. Taking tucker into account, the cost of a day at Winslow is dearer than at most Div One grounds. Cheapest by far is at Totternhoe, but you had better stop at Macky D’s first if you get peckish.

It would be very nice to complete the survey, so if you are one of those clubs that hasn’t filled in the questionnaire, please do so and make Karen a very happy bunny.

To be fair to Rhodes he didn't compose that last posting of his, the overall review of the survey was written by Bill Scholes for the South Midlands Newsletter.

In reply to Nellie, I would welcome any corrections, the initial survey was sent to all club secretaries and is based on their responses and where no responses were received then information supplied by numerous groundhoppers was used.

I'm doing a Rhodes that his opening post was all his own work though KB.

It's surprising that Rhodes isn't on a committee at a club given he once said he'd had numerous offers.

Could be though that he's caring for his poorly Mother though given the time he spends trawling club websites to come up with untold numerous b*****ks she's probably hired him as a once a day tea boy.

Reckon the only club Rhodes has any connection with is a Jacob's......oh and George Michael's fan club too.

Loosely – Don’t you think that you are shooting the messenger, the so called ‘Price of a Cuppa’ survey is all over the SSML website where it originated and the difference in prices at Club’s is quite staggering such as the example I highlighted between Kentish Town’s extortionate £8.80 and New Bradwell St Peter’s bargain £3.50.

I was referring to your comment aimed at KB. The hypocrisy of a saddo who has 27,000+ posts on here claims that someone else has too much time on their hands when that person is making a genuine effort to assist football fans is only the naked jealousy of a bitchy old queer who has been shown up by Karen's own selfless work with unlooked for thanks in reporting fixtures, results and match updates where your own are petty and often faulty.

People can read you like a book Cliffy, your every comment is transparent in your efforts to belittle others.

As we've seen, there are some corrections to make, KB isn't crying in her tea.

Loosely – What brought that sudden outburst on, did you get out of bed the wrong side this morning as I’ve noticed you occasionally do. I wasn’t knocking Karen or her efforts, all I said, tongue in cheek, was that she seemingly has far too much time on her hands

When I played there last season we had a cracking Chilli after. I quite like it when they do the Pasta and meatballs at our place (The Chilli is pretty good too)

And there, you said it again. As many times as you're able no doubt.

Karen is secure in her own abilities to put you in your place, I just do it for fun you twisted little queer bitch.

Dunno why Rhodes pokes his nose in anyway, well apart from being jealous that KTFC booted him and are still plying their trade.

Anyway thought the only time Cliffy put his hand in his pocket was to scratch his crabs

It might be for Karen though as she is always so meticulous in her old school approach to things

Apparently there is a worrying shortage of Bovril at the moment and large quantities of Bovril granules have been discontinued by Unilever, which SSML grounds still sell 'the nectar' out of interest:
