I know there were only 2 games played ( I think ?) and I can't see a thread for todays results and reports so here goes -

Guernsey 5 Frimley 0

A bit of a game of 2 halves really Frimley gave it a good go early on and the game was fairly even maybe Frimley edged it.

Guernsey went 1-0 up with a Simon Geall bullet header from a corner, great header and with the goal of the game Ryan Zico Black scored a superb volley from the edge of the box, unstoppable.

Half time 2-0 a bit harsh on Frimley.

After the break Guernsey went 3-0 up with a dubious Ross Allen penalty, I need to see the TV evidence ! lol. A cross came in from the far side and Ross Allen shaped to shoot and then appeared to have his legs clipped by the defender, but no-one in the crowd shouted for a pen.

This time it was Frimley who got a suspect Penalty !, A corner came in and Tardif made a clean catch, then the ref pointed to the spot and I think booked Sam Cochrane !, no-one I asked could see why a Penalty was given. Tardif dived to his right and made a comfortable penalty save.

Tardif had earlier pulled off a wonder save at full stretch to tip a shot round the post, what a save !.

Guernsey then went 4-0 and 5-0 up both from close range from Dom Heaume.

2nd half could have seen the numbers evened up when Jamie Dodd went in with a bit of a reckless tackle but luckily the ref produced only a yellow.

I've never seen Ross Allen miss so many ! in the second half he could have had 5 or 6 ! he missed so many 1 on 1s. The Frimley Keeper has to take credit for some great saves as well of coarse.

Frimley also went down to 10 men after Ryan Page got his 2nd yellow when the score was 3-0

Attendance 1093 not bad for a chilly day :)

Guernsey FC v Frimley Green

Today's starting team: Tardif, Geall, Winch, Cochrane, Dodd, Mackay, Dyer, Black, Heaume, Allen, Bradford.

Subs - McKenzie, de Garis, Rihoy, Mahon

Cold and dry start to today's game with Frimley Green 20-1 to win with the local bookie.

Not the best of starts for the team and they were finding it difficult to get into their rhythm in the early stages but they eventually got the start they wanted, opening the scoring after 19 minutes. Stalwart Simon Geall with his first goal of the season heading in Guernsey FC's 100th League goal. Frimley did have their chances but failed to convert and they fell further behind when Ryan Zico Black fired in a beautiful volley on 43 minutes to make the score 2-0 just before half-time.

1st half stats: - Free-kicks GFC - 6, FG 6, shots on target GFC - 4, FG - 3, shots off target GFC - 3, FG - 0, corners GFC - 3, FG - 2.

Much more positive approach from Guernsey in the second half and they went further ahead when Ross Allen was bundled over in the 55th minute and he duly slotted home the resulting penalty to make it 3-0.

Frimley Green's chance of getting anything out of the game were made even more difficult when Ryan Page crudely fouled Glyn Dyer and, having already received a yellow card previously, was sent off.

Guernsey now had full control of the game but in a rare attack by Frimley they were awarded a penalty much to the amazement of the Guernsey fans. Whatever the reason, the penalty stood but a weak shot by the Frimley player was easily saved by Tardif in the Guernsey goal.

Wave after wave of Guernsey attack eventually saw Dom Heaume put Guernsey 4-0 in the lead after an unselfish pass by Ross Allen in the 81st minute. The icing was put on the cake when Dom got his 2nd goal and Guernsey's 5th, deep into injury time.

2nd half stats:- Free-kicks GFC 5, FG - 7, shots on target GFC - 6, FG - 3, shots off target GFC 8, FG - 0, corners GFC - 2, FG - 2.

Guernsey FC Man of the Match - Scott Bradford

Crowd - 1093

Emphatic win by Guernsey FC today and yet another 3 points to make their total 70 points.

The Green Lions are now in that envious position of being the first team in the Division to be unable to fall below that 2.0 points per game margin (34 games/68 points) which is essential for any team seeking promotion.

Guernsey's weather has certainly been to Guernsey's FC's advantage today, as only one other game in this division was playable today.

Westfield 2-2 CB Hounslow

Decent game for the neutrals so I was told today – CB Hounslow have had a clear out this week and arrived with half a new side. They took the lead after barely a minute when once again poor defending cost us. We levelled through shortly afterwards and gradually took control of the game. Second half we were much the better side and finally got in front through a lovely finish from Ricky Hogsden. However we switched off again at the back and the visitors equalised and from then on it was anyways game as both sides poured forward and to be honest Hounslow had the better chances. We didn’t play that well today but feel from leading and feeling comfortable we tossed away 2 points. On the other hand we could have easily lost it eventually

Pitch was absolutely fine. One corner caused concern before kick-off but I reckon there were a few premature postponements today

I've a lot of time for CB Hounslow as a club on and off the pitch - decent bunch

Guernsey FC Man of the Match - Scott Bradford

Neither did I !

GD - Ryan Zico Black, I agree was probably the Green Lions most effective player today, lovely strike from him for the 2nd goal, but in all honesty there was no one stand out performer in today's game over the 90 minutes.

Great work as usual T. I would have gone to this if I hadn't convinced myself very early on that no games would be played.

Some highlights:

The Westfield keeper's hat.

The shin out of touch by the CB player.

Great third goal.

The incorrect snow prediction.

The CB fan who is convinced that a couple of shots have gone in. "You must finish it!"

Highlights for me were Woodley's great start to the game with an excellent clearance leading to CB's 1st and Ricky Hodgsen's ridiculously high 70's style shorts!

WTF was going on with the Ref and the Westfield 11 after the final whistle I think it takes the respect thing to another level maybe thats why CB didn't get the Pen where does the ref come from ?

Don't see anything in it, myself. Looks like after the whistle the 11 is annoyed, makes a gesture, and just goes to walk off. Ref calls him over, and the player relaxes and apologises.

The incident was because earlier in the game our 11 took a whack to the ribs and the ref, to see if he was ok, managed to tap him where he got whacked and there was an altercation between the 2. I think the final whistle was just displaying there was no hard feeling. Either way I think you're looking for something that's not there.

The ref didn't give a penalty because matey dived

I've been badly injured but no Ref ever cuddled me at the final whistle did any of the CB players get a little peck on the cheek for getting a knock,if you ask me that is being too friendly and should not happen IMO

I'm not saying what happened was right or wrong but I think you're looking far too much into it. Also saying there was some sort of link between that and them not getting a penalty is silly
