Everyone as His or Her opinion. Lets have a few more opinions. let's debate it.Maybe we can encourage a few more post's on what used to be a lively forum.

Young Stubbs goal from the edge of the box against Lewis,Up and over, would have graced goal of the week had it been on match of the day. Clokes 30 yd drive. Pinnock trapped in the left corner at the north end, taking the ball out and past 3 Bromley defenders. All would have been highlighted? It;s about relative entertainment.

1) Don't rate the Player but I would not Boo him. (Short Memory Alex)

2) Paul Scholes / Long balls, OK in right context,

Watched United Chelsea game, Scholes terrified them. His Long balls were magnificent (as were his short).

3) The main reason why Scholes's long balls were so devastating was, he had colleagues who can take a ball down and control it 1st touch. Collleagues who generaly know where the balls going when it leaves their head.

4) Good picture in the local "Gavin"

1) Agree, even if you dont rate the player, dont boo

2) & 3) Long balls can be effective, like you said if team mates can take the ball down from height, run into space, know what they are going to do when they receive it (at this level its different, there is a reason players are in this league and not in prem, championship etc) - The long ball from kick off really annoys me.

4) Thanks, I am trying to guess who you are blueblood to know it was me... i'm gonna guess Dave...I could be wrong

4) Wrong.

Still should be able to take a high % of ball first touch as basic at whatever level.

as I asked at the begining "is it me" - it must be - I didn't talk about long balls or the disgraceful treatment of Tom Bradbrook - I mentioned there is always no one on the back of the box at corners etc and the Scholes part (I actually dont like him much but a skill is a skill) related to his positioning just outside the box when the ball comes out from the opposition defence and he so often rifles it back into the goal from there & it strikes me that sort of accuracy more often would come from WW and Dan Stubbs

This is something Joseba and I have often talked about during games.

How many times a ball is back headed, punched or passes over the pack, going out instead of being fed in again or struck as you say, the defence are off guard. Some people would say they do not have time to rehearse the positioning in training. I would say they are intelligent people with a brain, capable of taking responsibility. So why time after time do most teams fail to cover this position? is it management? Curtis as had results the odd time he as dropped into the position.

So, what you are saying is you do not expect the players at this level to have the skills IE, 1st touch. "Bo***cks, the main difference's are, Speed of thought, fitness and the desire.

I say many times to people, you see everything watching Margate as you would watching a premiership side, the same passes, ball skills, shots, 30yd drives. the exception is the speed at which the game is played.

If that were true PL clubs would just recruit players from non-league then improve their fitness and 'desire'. They'd save a fortune.

Exactly Mike and I am sure he has done it at home too, just cant remember who against!

RA has scored three league goals so far, all from outside the box, not sure if they came from poor clearances or not, the fact remains we need what CK is searching for and that is a creative mid-fielder, the link between back and front. I for one hope we get one sooner rather than later.

Coffin Ender.

I believe every one is born with talent to succeed at something. Be it football or be it accountancy (Pagey).

Up bringing, circumstances and as we grow, our mates can and do influence us. Injuries also thin out the numbers.

In the last few years I have seen and been frustrated by youngsters with obvious talent who, due to outside influences(drugs, social life, drink, parenthood to soon etc) have given up on their game or at least scaled back their ambition to Sundays. OK they may not have made the grade but, they can still enjoy.

I would love to see a proper Academy set up, full of lads with the attitude of our ex player "Roberto Corbishley". I would also love to see "Roberto" involved in it,passing on his enthusiasm to the kids though, I believe he lives in the Maidstone area.

At last years academy set up I believe we were left with 7 lads who at that stage had a chance. Unfortunately it all fell apart. Some of the youngsters left to go Ramsgate others to University etc.

This is a way forward for Clubs, OK, we need outside players if we are to progress, as Ramsgate have proved you cannot get much higher using solely local talent, Normally If 1 or possibly 2 come through in a season then, it is a success. With a proper pro set up maybe we could double that.

PS to me local is Faversham, Canterbury, Dover any any where this side or in between.
