Play on harder pitches in preseason! End up with the worst friction burns too.

 

I always think that, suppose the issue this time of year is that it doesn't break up and there are ruts all over the place. We have done well though to get to February before mass postponement.

Kentish Town FC Vs Bedford 11am Inspection

I already posted that the game was off but it wasn't put up

There were 41 games across the Spartan League and two other games involving Spartan league teams that were Postponed due to the weather, yet you choose to highlight the Kentish Town Vs Bedford FC game, this goes to show what a sad man you really are Cliff.

I was just trying to help Bedford out that's all as having an 11.00am inspection on a game that's guaranteed to be postponed wasn't fair on the McMullen Park Club

Not SSML related however as we're all twiddling our thumbs today this situation yesterday reminded me of when Tokyngton Manor were due to play London Colney at the end of the 2009/2010 campaign, London Colney continually complained to the Referee that night who could have been persuaded to play the game but he eventually gave in and called it off:

 

St Neots P Daventry Town P

Admission £8.00

Programme £2.00

 

Oh dear. Massive effort by St Neots to get this game on. At 1.30pm it was on. At 2.35pm Chairman interviewed on BBC Radio Cambridgeshire it wa on. 2.45pm it was off.. The crack at the ground was that Daventry bottled it. The continually complained to the referee and eventually he gave in and called it off. Full refunds given to everyone in the ground. St Neots had a kick around on the pitch. It looked ok but who knows?

 

Feel sorry for St Neots after all their efforts.

As we're short of games from yesterday to discuss today I thought this report from another Forum would be of interest:

 

Baldock Town 0-0 Codicote

Hertfordshire County Premier

 

Admission: £3

Programme: £1

Attendance: ~110

Tea: £1

 

Strange to see a ground with a cage around it, although one small stand is inside it to offer an unobstructed view. However, on this cold day the majority of the crowd opted to stand around the barbecue. Move the fence back a bit and this is a decent ground, with plenty of cover along one side and small uncovered terraced areas behind each goal. Access is through the small bar area.

 

Decided this was the safest bet with a 3G pitch and an early kickoff meaning I could be back before the snow hit. Did catch a little close to home, but the only problem was getting back into my parking space.

 

The game was thankfully a lot better than last Saturday's fayre, two generally evenly matched sides, both struggling to make the final breakthrough as defences were on top.

And what the hell has it got to do with you?

 

What time would you have called the pitch inspection for, before of after the frost lifted.

 

Bedford were leaving after midday, so whats the problem with 11 O'clock

Oh and they were aware of the inspection time on friday night, with no objections.
