Leatherhead 2, MFC 0

First dominated possession but only one real chance which was Bradbrook's header against a post. SO made a fine one-on-one save then a great reaction close range save (though that was flagged offside anyway). Second half we gave away a poor goal and Leatherhead, who had been a team low on confidence, had a bit of belief. We rallied, plenty of balls into the box but no finish. They caught us out again and that was that really. Typical game in this league, possession counts for little, it's about being effective in each box.

Must mention two cracking saves from our Goalie in the first half.

Sad that the 6 points we at first thought would propel us to play-off madness were soooooo hard to obtain. Is the leaving of Kwesi the reason or just tired legs, either way Im kind of excepting mid table finish as the place to be this season and maybe find another goalscoring machine for next seasons big push.for winning the league :(

There is very little to pick between nearly all the teams in this league. We're not playing any differently to that supposed 'hot' spell when we won five games in a row. Last night's performance was far superior to the one at Aveley, for example, where we won 3-1.

It's swings and roundabouts in this league. Obviously we need a replacement for Kwesi. The good news is that the teams above us are not consistent either so quite a few teams will be in the shake-up for the play-offs.

Agree with DR post above and CE summary of the game.

Typical feb night away game performance.

All a bit average-not poor but not good.

First goal counts most and lots of IF's-had bradbrooks header gone 2inches to the left -and taken the lead -we prob would have won-very fiine margin between win and lose.

I thought it was an even first half-but we had most of possession in 2nd.-to no avail.

As ever-defence looked good-but conceded 2 goals !!

Pooley played particularly well at left back i thought.

I'm boring myself saying it-and it is no criticism of the current midfield-but i still feel we need extra quality in central midfield to really take a grip of the game.

Pity we can't play 12 players-Stubbs had decent game on left-and gives balance/outlet-and looks a more composed player this season.

That given whilst we used to criticise Dan for headless chicken syndrome-by him playing wide left-do we miss his harrassing and energy in the centre.?

Danny making a general nuisance of himself chasing down was a feature that is now missed-difficult to get the balance right.

If we had his extra energy in the centre-that would help-but then you could only play one striker.

Are two wide players-bodkin and stubbs too much of a luxury as being wide-they are less involved ?

A surprising positive feature for me last night was how well bradbrook and robinson linked up.

2 similar players when in strikers role-but they linked up really well-did not get in each others way.credit to those two and th way CK and JL had them working together .

Frankly-in terms of linking up together-they worked better as a pair than kwesi and robinson or kwesi and bradbrook-but obviously we missed kwesi preditrary instinct.

'Based on what i saw last night thought brad and robinson looked a proper partnership.-hence i feel midfield improvement /refreshment is the priority to create the chances.

WW may not be the world's best midfielder-but surely he deserves a bit of a chance to offer a bit more creativity in central midfield.-and probably gaurantees you a goal every 4 games from a set piece.

Been watching the last two games, players have been arguing, and seems to me that we are lacking a bit of creativity. We have a creative midfield player but it seems to me and some other fans that our most creative, technical player is being overlooked.

The way CK and JL have set the team out sometimes works but there must be a time where they need to introduce WW's technique and creativity when games especially last night needed a different approach, we are very one dimensional in the way we play sometimes.

Leatherhead passed the ball around well for a team who were just thrashed 5-0 to Bury so their confidence must have been low and we didn't capitalise on this.

MB is not able to show all of his flair and technique in the way the lads are told to play, CR has never been a centre forward. DS just moans at his team mates and his captain. TB thrives on balls played to his feet and they are knocked "hopefully" into areas where they might be dangerous.

If you read this management football has evolved and is more diverse from when you last managed, this football only works when you do not have creative players..........we do!

The management could do no wrong a week ago 2 losses and they need to evolve give over. Like what was said earlier anyone can beat anyone in this league its about taking chances and by the sound of things last night we didn't.

Plenty more points will be dropped before the end of season from all the teams.

Yep agree-thought you were a bit harsh with your views MBlue -and to be fair-whilst i only saw tuesday-saw no signs of 'arguing 'whatsoever.

I do feel DS is a bit isolated on the wing as his positive energy in the centre does rub off on others-and yep-agree that WW deserves a chance and brings something a bit different.

It would nor surprise me at all if we lose 4 games on the trot-(does'nt make it a disaster ) and then win the next 5 on the trot.-f0otballs like that.
