Bookham FC

Not sure why these amounts are always so secret. It surely only benefits landlords who charge more than others or tenants who pay less than average.

You're right ! Like alot of subjects on this forum Bommie, 'Silence is Golden' when you ask a question, which at times means they are hiding behind the clouds, such as the subject I have asked previously.

Badshot Lea ''allegedly'' are paying Godalming between 15k - 20k

MV ''allegedly'' are paying Cobham 10k-15k

So BJR @ 10k to groundshare is relatively the going rate, if its cheaper then thats a pretty good deal for Bookham, who I asked some time back, whats happening to them from bottom of CCL Prem to bottom(ish) of CCL Div 1 obviously problems there, which has now comes light by resigning from the CCL.

although im against groundsharing in general I hope Bookham can enjoy playing football in the future.

now we could see another reason why Im against groundsharing.

Dorking fc have a possible vacancy if they dont decide 30 less matches might improve the pitch.

Dorking fc and by that I mean individuals now have the power to help a club or shun it, in return for cash.

ex ryman ground. who might want to play here? guildford? mvscrfc? dorking wanderers? Horsham?

BJR - the chairman/manager at Bookham told me that they were paying £10k earlier this season. Not sure he'd make it up would he. If that's just for games - which it is as they still train at Chrystie Rec - then that's about £500 a game! Not sure they're getting their money's worth.

The manager from Epsom Athletic told me they're paying £10k at C&H - same as above!

Sorry bjr but you're wrong, bookham do pay 10k as was the case when i was glyns asst 3 seasons agoand confirmed by bob and simon earlier this season when rpv played them in the cup. That same season i helped negociate the deal for warlingham to g/share at merstham which was only 8k. They then of course moved to whyteleafe last season for a LOT less

The more I think about this, the more I think that greater transparency would be better for the game. The more clubs that hide stuff away, the more likely we will get more situations like Croydon Athletic, WIndsor & Eton, Farnborough etc...where clubs live beyond their means.

An extra £10K in the budget or suddently losing £10K from the budget - what a big difference that would make to most clubs at this level!

PS. I'm not picking on Dorking here, I am making a general point.

what bookham say they pay and what people at dorking think the club get are clearly two different things.

what they are charged and what they pay might be different too.

nice guy DFC can have a reserve side and still groundshare I think. id hope that decision was made by coaches not accountants

Erm not too sure TSF 'cos if Dorking have a reserves, they will need to play somewhere else other than at Dorking on Saturdays and midweek should Dorking groundshare with another club ?

Epsom & Ewell play their home reserve games midweek at RPV don't they?

Why couldn't Dorking do that (or us for that matter should we offer a groundshare on Saturdays)?

Why Nice Guy ? Where do MV reserves play ?

To be honest I dunno Krooontzz ! Do they play at Cobham as well ? If so no wonder the pitch is in dire straights (how many teams play at Cobham ...also someone like Blazers / St. Andrews youth ?)........but thats where Cobham earn their finance to pay decent money to some of their players certainly for a CCL Div. 1 team !

Epsom & Ewell 1st team groundshare at Merstham !

Epsom & Ewell Reserves groundshare at RPV !

I'm amazed where they can find the money to pay for this as its not coming via their support they get, not behind the bar 'cos its not there's.............they must still have money in the kitty from selling their ground.......!

Nice Guy,there is only one thing that bugs me,you want honesty and transparency on this Forum.Your knocking of Clubs is non stop. But how can you, almost demand posters to reveal facts about their Clubs, when you will not reveal WHO YOU ARE.NO HONESTY OR TRANSPARENCY FROM YOU AT ALL.I PERSONALLY DO NOT GIVE A TOSS WHO YOU ARE,REASON YOU ARE GOOD FOR THIS FORUM,ALBEIT AN IRRITANT TO MOST POSTERS.

Smudgeyboy, how am I knocking clubs when all I say is my opinion and ask questions. Now whether I am irritant or not doesn't concern me but I don't see other forumites asked leading questions which never get answered....... now where's that smoke screen !

All I've asked is that I'm amazed that E&E can afford to have 2 groundshares unless E&E tell us anything different ? What is really wrong with that? That is not knocking E&E ! There are forumites who are against groundsharing, so are they knocking those relative clubs.....mmmnn exactly !

Sometimes I hit nerves with clubs, but why are they nerves ?

Probably, but why should that concern you, Clubs need revenue to survive at any level.Croydon Athletic many years ago,had 3 junior teams play every Sunday on the Main pitch, was a great earner.

Im just interested whats wrong with that !

If thats true about the number of clubs that play at Cobham, my comment which has been mentioned to me also, is the reason for such a poor pitch !

Read my post before shooting yourself in that holey foot of yours, I quoted '' but thats where Cobham earn their finance''.... did YOU say I was irritant ........ lol !!!

As I've previously written on here, the U18 and girls team also play on the pitch. The last season I was there (2010/11) there were 7 sides on it (MVSCR Reserves didn't play on it then) and it was bad enough.

It's a shame as the surface could easily be one of the best around. Before Chelsea got lights installed at their training ground they were very interested in using Cobham for their midweek youth matches and sent their groundsmen to start work on it and they agreed it wouldn't take much to get a very good surface.

It never got much further than that as Chelsea then got permission for lights!!
