Rebels v Chertsey

Paul Coyne has had some superb games for Slough this season but yesterday wasn't one of them.I totally disagree with the notion that we would be an average team at best, if we didn't have him. How will we cope without him next year!

I feel we are too dependent on him,at times, which actually stifles our creativity and we never get to see other equally good midfield combinations due to Steve Bateman's fixation that Paul Coyne must play every game[and obviously some supporters views,as quoted on this forum!].

This does not mean that I think Paul Coyne is a poor player.Far from it. I just happen to believe that with the players available given our large squad, that there are some potential gamebreakers who rarely get the chance and would offer us a different style of play when we are not playing so well.

What really bugs me,though, about Paul Coyne is that he seems to be able to do exactly as he pleases on the pitch and ignores any advice from management and his fellow players and yet when any other player steps out of line, in the tiniest of ways, they are soon reprimanded by our management team. This is unfair and this seems like one rule for one and one rule for another.

I don't usually say much on here in regards to players or matches, but on reading this thread and what has been said about Paul Coyne. Don't you think that by getting a yellow card early on for what seemed like a normal sliding tackle would have ham-strung his options for tackling for the rest of the match.

Whether or not he deserved that yellow is another debate that is going on right to the top, where even two tackles exactly the same in one match are treating differently, one getting a red card, and another not even a foul.

Dont judge too quickly when Paul walked by us he had his shoulder padded up, so maybe just maybe, he might of been in a bit of pain, and as we know you men dont take pain too well do you so that might explain why he didnt look very happy.
