Rebels v Chertsey

winning is all that matters right now as you say goal difference we aint going to catch St Neots for goals

yet another clean sheet

yet another win at home. if worst comes to the worst we got to back ourselves to win the playoffs at home

still think we are desperate for something different in the final 3rd. Burgess could well do a great job on the right especially if Sincs is injured he was best player probably for us today

think we did enough but Chertsey put in a good display and were a bit unfortunate though they didnt really create a guilt edged chance.

it was the sort of home win we have seen quite a few times this season. not spectacular but solid at the back and did what we had to do to get the win

Decent enough win, didn't really need to get out of first gear really. Ollie Burgess looked very good today and was probably MOTM for us, very good all over the pitch, and the defence were very good. We did what was needed and shut out Chertsey, I don't remember Warro having to make many saves, and with 3 goals too we were good value for the win. We can't affect what St Neots do so getting points on the board is the crucial thing.

Lots of games to go, COYR!

oh okay cheers lads.

Slug? lol not much effort put into that Manimal

You are right, I have no inspiration sadly having never been to Slough, the Newts reference seems quite apt as those who visit on March 10th will see the town in on the banks of the Great Ouse and lakes and ponds are a plenty.... I will get thinking.

I agree Ollie Burgess was man of the match and had his best game since arriving at Slough.

Thought Chris Herron was excellent, too and was better on the right wing than when he moved back to his orthodox left wing in the second half.

Simon Sweeney and Adam Logie both looked good when they came on.

Am I the only one on here who thought Paul Coyne was out of order yesterday, when he marched off down the tunnel, without going on the bench, after being substituted.Fair play to Dave Woozley for having a go at him.Paul Coyne didn't play well yesterday and IMO should have come off earlier. Why he gets himself wound up about being subbed,I don't know.

Who does he think he is? Lionel Messi !

I thought we looked a better team without him.

Steve Bateman has got to start stamping some authority on these sort of things. As good a player as Paul is,IMO he shouldn't start against North Greenford because in my mind, throwing your dummy out like a big baby is neither good for the team morale, or should it be tolerated.

yeah wasnt sure what to make of Coyne storming off. if he was just angry at being subbed then thats a bit ridiculous as a lot of players have sat on the bench for long spells all season waiting for their chance. at times he has been awesome for us this season but at 3-0 with him not playing the best of games it made sense to sub him off for someone who dont get much game time and as you say the sub could have come earlier.

options looking a bit better again now even with Sinclair injured. Sweeney Logie and Burgess can all make big impacts if given a starting place.

anyone know how bad Martin and Sinclair injuries are? also anyone know more about Murphy he had a scan in the last few days i believe

Paul Coyne should be and will be the first name on the team sheet on Saturday.

So far this season IMO Paul Coyne has been by far our best player.

I think he has made a concerted effort to improve his discipline this season and as a result I think, with his performances, Paul Coyne has shown us that he is one of the best, if not the best, mid-field player in the league.

No player likes to be subbed and it was unfortunate that Coyney decided to act the way he did but I'm sure SB will have had words and this incident will be long forgotton.

Have to agree RR, without Coyne we would be an average team at best, the guy makes us tick and has to start all remaining games this season if available for us to stand any chance of winning the league! So he stormed off down the tunnel, he's not the first and won't be the last, and I'm sure he realised the error of his ways once he'd calmed down, as I've said before, we're all human and all over react!

We've been picking up these kinds of wins all season - comfortable yet uninspiring. Warrington had hardly anything to do!

As for Paul Coyne, I'm with readingrebel and Cookham Rebel on this one. He's by far the most talented and passionate midfielder we have and (whilst I don;t wish to criticise our other midfielders), puts himself about far more than them. He's always running around the centre of the pitch, stopping the opposition play and making things happen for us. Barring illness or loss of form, he should be on the team-sheet as a player like him can make a difference even if he's not having the best of games.
