Walking to Woodford

Its that time of year again, when those foolish enough to stick with tradition get their walking boots out.

 

The last away game of the season is at Woodford on 28th April.

 

Rough guestimates suggest that Woodford is about 65 miles away by sensible route, that equates to three days walking.

 

If you would like to walk can you let me know.

 

I will get round to starting to think about the route and the logistics of doing it shortly, so would help if I knew roughly how many will participate.

Woodford was one of the grounds we cycled to last season. For those thinking about walking, I can confirm it's a really pleasant route, assuming you go a similar way to us.

I'm sure it will be Peter!! Every time I phoned Kay during the last walk they were in the pub!!!!

Am going to start planning route this week hopefully.

 

Looks like four of us walking - unless any more takers.

 

Suggest coming home first night - depending on someone picking us up and taking us back the next day. Then stopping en route on the Friday.

 

It looks like 63 ish miles

 

Do those walking have any suggestions for a charity. HomeStart has been suggested, they provide support for families with children under 5

I think it would be nice if we could support a Slough (or locally) based charity as this would show that we are a community club and not just a football club.

Agree, think it should be a small local charity that gets by on a shoestring. I know how important such funding is, running a small charity on a shoestring!

Slough Hospitals League of Friends. For years (70s & 80s) we raised money for the league of friends & WRVS that way the whole community would benefit ( as they will with the new ground proposals)
