What did we think of the Oscar Nominations this year folks, it doesn't seem like a particularly outstanding year other than Rooney Mara being nominated for "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" and she should win the Leading Actress gong comfortably although cue Loosely to disagree:

Have you been out to see "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" Rhodesy? Have you seen the original trilogy?

Loosely – This is more for our film buff LATO to answer but he’s too busy rubbing shoulders with the likes of Judith Keppel and Dermot Murnaghan at the moment. Yes I have seen the film but not the original trilogy, why would I be interested in that, I thought Rooney Mara was a brave choice with the likes of Scarlett Johansson, Natalie Portman, Carey Mulligan and LATO’s own Mia Wasikowska all fighting tooth and nail for the unique role but the gamble paid off and she should win the best actress Oscar blindfolded on 26 February at the Kodak Theatre.

Well Rhodesly, the reason I asked was purely for your opinion on comparing the original main characters Noomi Rapace and Michael Nyqvist over the more recent Rooney Mara and Daniel Craig but of course I should have known better. My bad, not your fault at all.

Loosely - Why do you always have to complicate things, you really are a strange bloke and I bet you haven't even seen the film or knew who Rooney Mara was until I mentioned her

You claim that Rooney Mara should win Best Actress but can't compare original performances and say why she is so good.

 

Perhaps you have something to try and hide but its too late. Your ignorance and rudeness has been apparent to all for some time when you can't even manage a polite "No I haven't seen the films but I've seen all the others listed for Best Actress and can compare those".

This will be by far the most interesting of categories on 26 February as, like I said, it's not a particularly outstanding year for nominations this year.
